Not worth the money paid
Larry_B, Nov 2021
The day started as to what I thought was going to be a busy and exciting excursion, by the description of stops involved. We got about 1/2 of what is advertised. We did not go to Atlantis even though I asked our guide Marvin about going there. We did not go in the John Watling's Distillery, just stopped on the road out front for a few seconds. We did not go to Fort Fincastle, another stop listed on the tour. We also did not go to Fort Montagu as listed. No bottled water was offered as listed. Had I known it wouldn't be, I would have taken my own. Our tour only lasted 1-1/2 hours, not 2-1/2. We did get to see the low and high end homes (from afar) and learned alot about the culture, government, taxes, health care, etc. but was very disappointed in the description of this excursion, only to see about 1/2 of the listed stops. For the price, it was not worth it. Would not recommend for this price.

Hello, Larry. First of all we are very sorry that you did not have a 5 star experience. We aim to always please our guests! I hope that you would give us another chance to offer you an experience that you really enjoy.I am glad that you learned a lot about our history and culture on the tour. Marvin is amazing at sharing our vibrant history and culture in an engaging and fun manner! He said that he had a great time with you both and was surprised that you did not fully enjoy yourselves. We were happy to give you a free upgrade for a private tour and you commented to Marvin on how you enjoyed the personal touch...which we love giving! Regarding Atlantis, they temporarily closed access to outside visitors due to covid 19 unless you are willing to pay $150 per person to tour their property plus do covid tests. Cousin Marvin did offer to still show you the outside of Atlantis, but I understand that you declined to see it which is totally fine! He did take you to Fort Fincastle which is above where the Queen's Staircase is. The Bahamian government, like many places around the world, has closed all access to going inside the forts temporarily due to covid. However, we still showed you the outside and gave you the amazing history. We look forward to the times when we can go inside them again! You did go to Fort Montague. It is where you saw the high end homes from. Regarding John Watlings Distillery, we did stop there but unfortunately they were not opened which is beyond our control, but Cousin Marvin still gave you the history. We would be happy to take you back there when you return to Nassau! It is amazing! We are glad that you enjoyed learning about our history and culture. Hopefully when you return you will give us another chance to give you the marvelous experience our guests really enjoy!

Awesome experience! I had no idea that the Bahamian culture celebrate junkaroo almost like how we experience Mardi Gras in the states. Rum cake samples was great & the tasty teas service was excellent. Jeremy (tour guy) was beyond amazing, informative & patient throughout our tour. Definitely recommend.

I would be cautious of this travel group. We were asked to be there 15 min. before tour time. We were there and at 10 min after tour time I had to call. They apparently had not scheduled any one for us. About 5-8 min later a guy showed up with the only knowledge of the color of my husbands shirt, did not have our names but knew that he was to give us a tour around the island. The van was a beater, no AC, really dirty, nasty in fact. No water, totally unprepared. The tour was to be 2 hours and we were back at the ship in 1 hour. We frankly were glad to get out of the van and end the tour.

Our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. We rode as a couple with another family of four. At first the guide did not have information of our booking, but we waited as he confirmed before loading into an older mini van. We did see all the sights as promised in the tour booking online. For the price it was a good tour and the time spend was average. Will refer for future visitors who need to stay within budget of their vacation.
