What To Expect

Choose from one of several different start times, and then head to the pier opposite Oslo City Hall to board your boat. Your cruise takes place on Oslo Fjord, the city’s shimmering expanse of water, which is bordered by rocky shores and islets as well as the urban sights of Oslo.

Gaze out at the wooded hills that ring the city, passing through sheltered sounds and winding around small islands speckled with summer vacation homes. Lear about the area—its history and geography—from your onboard guide as you cruise.

Afterwards, return to the start point and hop back onto dry land to end your tour.

Oslo Fjord (Pass By)

Oslo is beautifully situated at the head of the Oslo Fjord (Oslofjorden in Norwegian) and is surrounded by forested hills. It’s a stunning city, and the best way to appreciate its beauty is on a relaxing sightseeing cruise. On this two-hour tour, discover the scenery from a sightseeing boat. You’ll sail past numerous islands, including Hovedøya and the Dyna Lighthouse, through narrow inlets and into sheltered bays so that you can capture the capital on camera from different angles. We will pass the Opera House in Oslo, housing The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet ensemble. The spot has been named Kirsten Flagstads place 1 after the opera's first director Kirsten Flagstad place 1 after the opera's first director Kirsten Flagstad. It was designed by the architectural firm Snøhetta AS, which won an architectural competition in 2000. A choice of seven departure times gives you excellent flexibility and allows you to easily fit this tour into your Oslo vacation. During winter season: A day at the Bygdøy Museums and Oslo Fjord Sightseeing: First join the 2 hour Fjord Sightseeing leaving 10.30, then we make a stop at 12:20 on Bygdøynes letting passengers off for a 2.5 hours visit to museums, at 14:50 we depart from Bygdøynes arriving 15:00 at City Hall. *1530 departure is only done when its daylight. During nov, des, jan and feb the sun sets earlier.

Sitting on the left side on a chair with a back will be most comfortable and provide the best viewing. We arrived 15 minutes early and most good seats were already taken. Narration is interesting. It’s a inlet not really what you think of as a fjord. Captain was extremely punctual. Bring a jacket.

Nice day on the boat! It was a nice tour around the fjords. You can buy drinks and snacks on board. Make sure to board early so you can get a spot on the side with a great view!

Beautiful day to spend on the water. Amazing scenery and interesting information. Seating slightly awkward (bench seats with padded cushions) as the boat seemed full but quite a few people got up and wandered around to get photos, once we had set sail. Very relaxing time on the water

Difficulty getting tickets validated. Boat was crowded and had many smokers. The pace of cruisd is slow and you mostly look at water and small islands. Music is easy listening.

Boat was large and rustic looking. If you want your pick of seats arrive earlier than 15mins before. Drinks and food on board are expensive so I’d bring your own water and food. Trip was lovely. We had a very hot day and even with the breeze it was still pretty warm! If you want shade, they open the tent. Audio and music provided some laughs but the commentary did give us some facts about the islands and oslo life. Would recommend! It wasn’t too expensive either!

The scenery you see during the cruise is beautiful. However, we thought the boat was too crowded and there are only a few seats with an unimpressed view—those obviously went to the people who happened to be at the front of the line. We also didn’t expect the boat to be open, which made for a very chilly tour.
