Overview

Feel your heart pumping as you sway into a wide arc on the Nevis Swing, suspended from a high platform above the Nevis River. The world’s largest swing lets you free-fall before swooping through the air at high speed. Enjoy a 40-minute drive from Queenstown before starting your daredevil experience in New Zealand’s adventure capital. Ride solo or with a friend, but if you’d prefer to watch you can select the Spectator Pass at booking.
  • Nevis Swing experience with transport from Queenstown
  • Swing solo or in tandem with a friend
  • Drop in free fall and then swing through the air high above the Nevis River
  • Reach speeds as high as 75 miles per hour
  • Choose from a variety of positions, including upside down
  • Purchase photos or video of your swing, if you wish

Why Travellers Choose This Tour

Start higher up than the nearby bungee jump, and combine a free-fall drop with a swing ride.
Meet your guide in central Queenstown for transport to the Nevis Swing. The 40-minute drive takes you through the high country en route to the Nevis Swing site located above the Nevis River. You can go solo or ride in tandem with a friend, or simply be a spectator.

On arrival, you’ll receive a safety briefing and slip into a secure harness before following your guide across a catwalk to the 525-foot-high (160-meter) enclosed platform suspended on cables in midair between the cliffs. Feeling the fear yet? Wait until your guide secures you to the swing mechanism, which lifts you out from the launch deck above the canyon floor.

The real adrenaline-pumping action begins when you’re released into a 100-foot (30-meter) free fall. Reaching speeds up to 75 mph (120 kph), you’ll suddenly sway into a 985-foot (300-meter) arc over the Nevis River valley. You also have the option to ride forward, backward or upside down! Once you stop swinging, you'll be winched back up to the platform.

Photos and videos are available for purchase following your ride on the Nevis Swing. Your half-day tour ends with return transport to Queenstown via shuttle.

both my adults sons went on this and both decided to go upside down - omg they absolutely loved it. The company were exceptional to work with and you knew your safety was their 1 concern. They both had a blast and have watched the movie over and over. Don't hesitate, book it.

Best thing I did while in Queenstown! The staff were excellent and made sure we were strapped in safely and ready for the swing of a lifetime. Make sure you get the photo/video package to share with all your co-workers, friends and family.

The ride up to the swing was great, there were some nice views. The swing itself was cool, it was a great rush! Ordering photos and video at the end was also a painless process.
