Following pickup at your Rio hotel around 8am, board a comfortable tour vehicle and transfer to the Marina da Gloria. Climb aboard the boat and set sail, passing the Museum of Tomorrow (Museu do Amanhã) and passing under the Rio-Niteroi Bridge. Get views of Santos Dumont airport, the historic Santa Teresa neighborhood, and the three forts built to protect the city.
Take in the scenic vistas and purchase drinks at the onboard bar while munching on the provided tropical fruits.
Back on land, drive through Aterro do Flamengo, from where you can see views of Sugar Loaf Mountain. Sit down for a traditional Brazilian barbecue lunch, called a churrascaria. Dig in to the array of grilled meats accompanied by a variety of side dishes.
Head on to Cosme Velho Station, where your prepaid tickets will take you to the top of Corcovado Mountain, through the dense Tijuca rain forest. Choose to climb the final 222 steps or ride the escalator to the Christ the Redeemer statue, you can see most of the city, all of the south zone and all the way to Niteroi. Spend about 40 minutes there before heading back down for drop-off at your hotel.
