Didnât realize this was an all day adventure. Started at 11:15 and we werenât finished until 4:30. We spent way too long (2 hours) walking to the central Market to gather our supplies, which was interesting but unnecessary. I believe the tour discription says a 10 minutes stroll.....it was not! Once back to the Yellow Hostel to cook, the kitchen was filthy (as youâd expect at a hostel) and people who were staying there kept coming in and out using the kitchen during the class. Marco was not prepared for the class and kept running back and forth across the street for supplies he needed; utensils, wine glasses, paperwork, etc. The instruction itself was fun and the food that we made was delicious.
I like how he showed us how to make different types of pasta. We didn't learn how to choose the right food at the market. We just followed him around. We made and ate a lot of food. It would have been nice to have a drink besides wine because it was hot. I say skip the market and lower the price.
Marco was awesome, and so great to work with. He was so patient with my children and made the whole thing fun. We loved making the pasta, and enjoyed the tour immensely. It was an excellent value, the food was great. Even with a few minor hiccups, it was a highlight for sure. He even gave us some great recommendations on where to eat and get Gelato. If you get a chance to do this, do it. It was so much fun!
