Why Travellers Choose This Tour
Skip-the-line passes to the Vatican Museums and Colosseum mean you can save up to six hours of waiting-in-line time during high season. Although not all areas require special clothing, be sure shoulders and knees are covered for when you explore holy sites.
Start the day with a border crossing into Vatican City, where you’ll breeze past the long lines and through an exclusive partner entrance into the ornate Vatican Museums. More than 200 tour operators have “Skip the Line” entry to the Vatican, but this Official Partner Tour grants you special access through the Private Partner Entrance, which allows you to enter immediately, saving up to four hours during peak season and giving you even more time to explore the beauty of the Museums. Once inside, you and your small group will enjoy all the highlights of the Vatican with an expert guide by your side. The tour takes in a treasure trove of artistic wonders, from masterworks such as Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel frescos and La Pietà in St. Peter’s Basilica to the precious relics, paintings, and tapestries adorning the museums’ gilded galleries. Throughout the tour, your expert, English-speaking guide will share fascinating insights only a local could know. After your Vatican tour, enjoy free time to sample some authentic Italian cuisine (own expense) before meeting your next expert guide for a tour of the historical heart of Ancient Rome. You’ll begin by skipping yet another line to enter the Colosseum immediately. Dominating the center of the Eternal City, this ancient arena puts modern stadiums to shame. Then your tour continues to the Palatine Hill, where Rome originated in a battle between two brothers. You’ll then be taken from the origin of ancient Rome to its hub: The Forum, that bustling marketplace where business, politics, and religion mixed. No other tour takes you so close to so much of the history, significance, and fabulous riches of Rome. Please note: During the low season, the itinerary described operates in reverse. You’ll tour the Colosseum and Roman Forum in the morning, followed by the Vatican Museums and St Peter’s Basilica in the afternoon.
We set up a tour through Viator. It was very well handled, and when we had a question the response was immediate and helpful. The tour guide company selected dis a great job and we would use them again.
Loved the tour to the colosseum with Amil! She was very knowledgeable, had a great personality, explained the history very well with a sense of humor and know the best picture spots! Didn’t like our Vatican guide, hard to understand, headsets were bad, and she rushed thru the tour!
We did the full day tour featuring the Vatican in the morning, and the Colosseum in the afternoon. Both our guides were extremely knowledgeable, considerate and polite. We enjoyed learning interesting facts about the landmarks and the guides provided a twist that made the visits so much productive. I would highly recommend this tours in the future. Good for all ages.
Overall, we spent 2 hour in all the rooms weaving our way through to the Sistine Chapel. THen we had only 10 min in chapel (no pictures allowed) before then goin to St. Mark's Basilica where you can take pictures. More time was needed in the Basilica or other parts of the Vatican. Unfortunately, it was SO hot that day we did not make it to the Colosseum portion of the tour.
Rome metro breakdown and made us missed the Vatican tour with guide.but i appreciate tour company for helping us find tickets only and let us explore it ourself.made us tired since we don’t know much about those paintings and keep walking around. After lunch we looking forward to visit Colosseum.our guide Amil really good.she is funny and make us feel interested all along this trip.i suggest Colosseum tour and please request for Amil as tour guide.once again thank you Amil for your explanation.
Our Vatican tour guide Llaria was amazing. Informative, efficient, and had many fun facts to keep our teens engaged. Our second tour Simone was very kind, but unfortunately not as knowledgeable or as entertaining as our previous tour. Our teens were so restless we ended up leaving early. We would have given a five star Raif we had the same tour guide for both tours.
while this combo tour makes for a long day especially if it is hot, the guides are really well informed and go out of their way to make the experience personal. Well organised City Wonders team makes it pain free to find the start
Fastest way to cover Rome in a day. The guides were knowledgeable and patient. Equipment provided was top notch.
Had difficulty getting to the meeting point for Colosseum tour as the directions were not clear (meet on the road, 2nd Level above Colosseum Metro station ) would've been clearer
Holiday in Rome. Was fantastic. Really busy and hot . Shame about the metro strike on our first day. It did put us a bit back but once we got the hang of the buses we were fine. The transport ticket is brilliant
