Meet your local guide and pay your fee to enter the Vatican Museums. Then, with your skip-the-line ticket, step inside to start your Vatican and Sistine Chapel tour. Follow your guide, listening to tales of saintliness and scandal, and learn about the Vatican’s place as one of the holiest sites in Christendom.
Italian art flourished in the Renaissance and baroque periods, and the Vatican popes put together one of the world’s largest collections of private art with frescos, paintings, sculptures and treasure. See the highlights as you walk through galleries such as Raphael’s Rooms, and hear stories behind works such as the School of Athens — a piece that features images of Michelangelo and Raphael himself.
Pass through halls such as the Gallery of the Masks and Gallery of the Maps. Then, make your way into the Sistine Chapel. A sacred spot and the private papal chapel, the Sistine Chapel is also renowned for its Michelangelo frescoes — The Last Judgement and The Creation of Adam.
Continue to St Peter’s Basilica, which is said to be built on the ground where St Peter is buried. Admire La Pietà, an early Michelangelo sculpture, and pause to rub the foot of a statue of St Peter, said to bring good luck. Your Vatican and St Peter’s Basilica tour then finishes outside the church.

  • Luggage storage NOT available
  • Evening tours do not include a visit to St. Peter's Basilica

If you prefer that St Peter's Basilica and Square are included, please DO NOT select Wednesday as your travel date
  • On rare occasions, St Peter’s Basilica closes without notice. If this happens, you'll spend a full 3 hours touring the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. We will list any affected dates as they become available. The tour guides aim to notify guests if St Peter’s Basilica is unexpectedly closed upon commencement of the tour. It is beyond our control, so no refunds or discounts will be issued

Total waste of money.

We paid $133 for three people. When we arrived we had to pay an additional 72 euros fir admission to the museum. I asked what did I pay for then? His reply, " a tour guide." Well, we were on the English speaking tour, but the guide could barely speak English. To say the least, I felt scammed.
Good Tour - Worth The $

This was a good tour. If noting else you have to do this for the skip the line. It would be unimaginable to have to wait in the line to get in. Espies alt if it’s in the summer. It was 85+ with 60% humidity. It would have been hell to of waited all day in line.
Awful guide

We were booked onto the English speaking tour and the guide's English was dreadful and we couldn't understand a word of what she was saying, we were fuming!
Guide was knowledgeable but there were other issues

The guide was extremely knowledgeable. Was able to ask him a lot of things. But the group was a little too big, made catching up to the guide difficult.

We had an excellent tour guide and very knowledgeable. With the tour you have expedited entrance into the Vatican 10-15’. The tour also included St. Peter’s and Sistine Chapel. Tour started around 8:30 and we were finished around 1pm. Without a reservation or tour, the line into the Vatican was several hours long, standing in the sweltering 90*+ heat during mid August. It was well worth the extra money!
Good but busy

The meeting place was easy enough to find as it was very busy and there was decent signage. We had to pay an extra 24 euro each before going on the tour to pay for the price to enter the Vatican museum. We didn’t realize this and luckily we had that in cash because they don’t take any sort of card transaction. Our guide was awesome!! So much knowledge and love for the area. This wasn’t our favourite tour though as the amount of people crammed in a small area was very overwhelming. The Basillica was the best part of this tour. If you aren’t much of one for art I’d say skip the museum and just do the Basillica If you can.
Not worth the money

First you need to pay extra for the ticket 24 euro. The guide was informative however it was really difficult to hear. You do skip the line which was good but overall not worth the money.
Such a disappointment

Our group was too big for the very crowded Vatican Museum. The guide was focused on keeping the group together and moving rather than the tour. There was so much to see and yet so much we didn’t see. It felt like we were simply getting through each of the areas. There was no substance to the information the tour guide gave, Limited information about a limited number of exhibits. The Sistine Chapel was simply chaos and the highlight for the guide seem to be the fact that we could leave through a less crowded exit! On the plus side the skip the queue was great and we sailed through the entrance and security.

Another must do when in Rome, however it was a very hot day and jam packed so somewhat irritating to always be rubbing up against other visitors constantly and our guide was a bit pushy to get us through. That being said, without this ticket it would have been much worse (hours wait) to gain access so worth it from that perspective. Would not repeat this in the summer months unless a very cool day.
Not worth it

Half day tour turned into an hour & a half as the tour was delayed by over an hour. Then another hour or more in the queue waiting in the heat to get into the Vatican museum. We were then rushed through as our aim was to make it to the Sistine Chapel before closing time. Most of the tour was a blur as we were fighting crowds and re-directed by security at every turn to the Chapel. The description of the tour is misleading as we had to pay extra to the agency for entrance to the Vatican. Although this is mentioned in the fine print, the tour description is ambiguous. I won't be booking with Viator again.
