  • Full-day wine and food tasting tour of Montalcino, Pienza, and Montepulciano from San Gimignano
  • Visit Montalcino, Montepulciano and Pienza, and admire landmarks such as Montalcino fortress
  • Sample regional specialties such as Pecorino cheese and Nobile di Montepulciano wine
  • Enjoy winery tours and tastings in Montepulciano and Montalcino
Meet your guide in central San Gimignano in time for an 8.40am departure. Traveling by air-conditioned bus, soak up the scenery as you drive through the picturesque countryside of the Tuscan hills, passing rolling vineyards, medieval castles, and hill-top villages on the around 1.5-hour journey to Montalcino.

Kick off your tasting tour with a visit to a wine cellar in Montalcino, where you’ll have chance to sample a selection of regional wines accompanied by some tasty Tuscan delicacies. Then, enjoy free time to explore the historic village and visit the grand Montalcino fortress (own expense).

Continue to Pienza for more food samples, including a taste of the world-famous Pecorino cheese, then take in the views over the UNESCO-listed landscapes of the Val d’Orcia.

After lunch (own expense), visit Montepulciano and admire the town’s beautiful Renaissance architecture. Finally, stop by a local winery to learn more about the winemaking process and sample the region’s iconic Nobile di Montepulciano wine.

After a full day of tastings, your tour ends back in San Gimignano around 7.15pm.

Please note: lunch is not included, but there will be plenty of places along the way to purchase food and drinks outside of the included tastings.
