The UNESCO-listed Angkor Wat is the star attraction of Cambodia and the magnificent temple complex is even more atmospheric at sunrise. This full-day small-group tour from Siem Reap makes an early start to avoid the crowds and visits highlights including Angkor Thom, Ta Prohm, and Bayon temple (entrance fees at your expense). Hotel pickup and drop-off is included.
Exciting and stunning day full of current and past history knowledge. Staying at a Temple location had a minor pickup issue, but Bo and team provided and alternative pickup making sure we caught the sunrise of Angkor Wat. Tour guides English was amazing and thorough. Ice cold water was provided and each stop and was abundant for entire group. Definitely needed for the heat to keep hydrated throughout the day. If you want to tour Angkor Wat definitely use Journey Cambodia for a fun and knowledgeable experience!
Mr Bun was a great guide, great knowledge of the area and made it fun for the group. They supplied us with water and cold towels throughout and took us to a nice eating area to have breakfast. You can take your own or buy there. They picked us up on time and were great all round.
My wife and I (both in 50's) took this tour staring about 4.30AM and everything went smoothly from start to finish. Our guide, Sokpee, was excellent and also good company. Once everyone is on board, you are taken to the ticket counter for the Angkor complex where you need to buy either a one or three day pass, which is not included in the tour price. Plenty of water is provided throughout the tour, but would recommend bringing a breakfast box from your hotel. The wait for the sunrise was worth it, but it is also worth noting that this will be all done by 7.30AM. You do visit a number of temples which are interesting, but would advise that unless your are reasonable fit (as we are fortunate to be) these maybe a challenge in terms of walking and climbing. Also, the day we did the trip it was 40 degrees plus, and even Sokpee was slightly struggling. In all a very enjoyable tour that I would fully recommend.
Everything was very well organized and very smoothly. From the pick up to the each temple visits. I would highly recommend this early morning tour to avoid the heat and big crowd. Our Tour guide Sokpee was super knowledgeable, about history, culture and best spot to go! He also helped us to take some very cool pictures.
Actual sunrise a bit disappointing due weather and time of year - however, still worth starting early to finish before it gets any hotter! Take a torch for walking in the dark to begin with. Take a breakfast box from your hotel as driver will keep it and bring to breakfast location. Lots of walking and navigating steps and stairs. Guide was good and ruins amazing.
