Get to know Tangier on this private day-long sightseeing tour, with a personal guide. Head into the walled 'medina' (old quarter) to explore its alleyways and 'kasbah' (fortress), and visit a souk and bakery to sample traditional local breads. Gain insight into the city’s heritage on a tour of the new town, and check out sights on the Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts, including the Punic-Roman necropolis, Cape Spartel, and famous Caves of Hercules.
  • Private Tangier city and coastal sightseeing tour
  • Explore the medina to see the kasbah and souk, and sample breads at a bakery
  • Admire Mohammed VI Avenue and colonial-era buildings of the new town
  • Visit the Caves of Hercules (own expense) on the Atlantic coast
  • See the Punic-Roman necropolis and Cape Spartel overlooking the Straits of Gibraltar
  • Take an optional camel ride (own expense) along dunes
  • Private air-conditioned transport, personalized attention from a private guide, plus hotel pickup and drop-off included
Depart your Tangier hotel by private, air-conditioned minivan with your guide, and delve into the bustling streets as you learn about the city’s history and culture.
Stop first at the walled medina to tour its labyrinthine alleyways. Pass the peeling Moorish- and Andalusian-style houses as you learn how the medina formed old Tangier's heart, and see landmarks like the main square and kasbah, with its rich architecture and marble courtyard. Along the way, browse a fruit, vegetable, and spice souk, and visit a bakery to sample some delicious local breads.
Head for the new town to view the palm-lined Avenue Mohammed VI, Royal Palace, Severo Ochoa school, and colonial-era buildings; and travel to Tangier's Atlantic shores, stopping to see the Punic-Roman necropolis on the way.
Gaze at these ancient graves, carved into a plateau facing the Straits of Gibraltar, and visit Cape Spartel, the lighthouse-topped promontory that seemingly stands guard over where the Atlantic and Mediterranean meet.
Visit the famous Caves of Hercules (own expense), a picturesque sea grotto that opens to the crashing Atlantic, and enjoy an optional camel ride (own expense) along the sand dunes.
Your tour then concludes with a hotel drop-off.

The tour was amazing. Our tour guide was super nice and talked to us about the history of each of the places we were visiting. We got to see where the locals lived and checked out the markets. I would highly recommend going on this tour.

Mustapha was an amazing guide. Our hotel concierge Hotel Continental knew him and invited him over the night before our trip to confirm our pick-up time and the itinerary. He was very knowledgeable about the city and Morocco and made the tour very relaxing telling us multiple times to slow down and enjoy everything. Mustapha had great recommendations for lunch and dinner, picking us up, dropping us off, and ensuring we got back to the hotel safely. After walking around with him, we were more comfortable and familiar with the area and able to explore on our own the next day. But on this tour we saw all the highlights of the area and I'm sure Mustapha would have taken us to any other specific sites if we had only asked. A wonderful guide and tour in a beautiful city. I highly recommend!!

Our guide, Jamal, went out of his way to help us with all our arrangements in Tangier and surrounding cities. He was very accomodating and seemed to know more than all our other guides about the history of Tangier and surrounding areas. This trip served as a nice orientation to the city. Jamal should be complimented.

This is a great tour. Mustafah, our tour guide, met us on time and took us all over, never leaving our side. Tangiers is hard to negotiate with the winding streets and alleys, but the Mustafah was amazing. The tour was interesting, filled with info and enough free time to enjoy the food and crafts.

Our driver Jamal picked us up at the cruise port right on time and proceeded to take us on a driving tour of the beautiful coastal neighborhoods and palaces of Tangiers. We even stopped at a private residence and got to peak at their incredible car collection. He stopped several times so we could admire the views and even ride a camel. On our way to the Kasbah, we met up with Mustafa our guide for the rest of the day and walked the beautiful streets and alleyways enjoying the sounds, smells and culture of Tangier. Mustafa could have been confused as the city's Mayor, since he knew everyone we passed and made us feel like welcomed guests in his home. We mentioned that we would like to see the synagogue and he got us entry for a nice visit and some great photos. The biggest treat was our delicious, authentic Moroccan lunch accompanied by a quartet of musicians and a perfect setting. Mustafa even took us to a spice shop so I could purchase saffron at the lowest price I could imagine! Jamal picked us up and drove us back to the dock. Overall, it was a great day being immersed in the culture and learning about life in Tangier.

So much fun! We enjoyed Jamal and his vast knowledge of Tangier and the history of the area. He was primarily our driver, and Chop-chop was our tour guide. Jamal drove us to all the sites we wanted to see and was prompt at picking us up and getting us back to the hotel. Chop-Chop was a great tour guide for the Casbah and set us up with a wonderful lunch.

Day trip 4 hours was informative. Guides were punctual and their English was great. Only negative was stopping at the uncle's shop at the end.
