Why Travellers Choose This Tour

This Lake Ashi and Mt. Fuji trip stands out thanks to included rides to and from Tokyo aboard the bullet train.
Your day starts early with pickup by deluxe coach at select hotels and locations in Tokyo. Take in the scenery as you depart Tokyo for a 2.5-hour drive to Mt Fuji, Japan’s highest mountain.
Proceed by coach to Mt Fuji’s 5th Station that is located at 7,545 feet (2,300m) about halfway up the mountain and offers another vantage point for Mt Fuji and the surrounding lakes (subject to weather conditions). The 5th Station also features shrines, torii gates, souvenir shops, and perhaps a few climbers completing their preparations for their ascent.
Then have time to enjoy Japanese-style lunch (if you select the "+ Lunch" option at checkout). Otherwise, you have the option to buy your own meal. Then drive to Lake Ashi, located nearby in Hakone National Park. Admire the pretty scenery as you take a short cruise across the lake, which is surrounded by mountains including Mt Fuji and Mt Komagatake.
Then journey to the top of Mt Komagatake on the Mt Komagatake Ropeway, an aerial tram that lifts off from the shores of the lake and takes you up Mt Komagatake in an enclosed cabin with 360-degree views. When you reach the summit, enjoy time to take in views over Lake Ashi and Mt Fuji. You can also take a short stroll along one of the walking trails at the mountain top.
After visiting Mt Komagatake, transfer by coach to the evening bullet train (Shinkansen) for your return to Tokyo Station.

Great tour-if the weather is nice

The tour was well organised and Hiro-san was a great and funny guide. Weather was not good, though, but I guess you cannot blame the tour organiser for that.
Futami Hayase: an excellent tour guide from Sunrise Tour.

Our tour day was very foggy due to rain. We could not see much...but our day turned out very pleasant because we had the best tour guide, Futami Hayase. She's very knowledgeable, and the most caring tour guide I've ever had. We have one of our sister who needs assistant with wheelchair. Futami helps her with every step of the tour from the beginning until we got on our train to go back to where we stayed. We just want to say "thank you so much" to Futami. She made our experiences in Japan very positive and that we would come back again.

Mt. Fuji is beautiful. We just got a cloudy day and could see much at Lake Ashi and on the cable car ride. Tour Guide was nice and very enthusiastic but talked too much and had a thick accent and was hard to understand at times
It was raining heavily and the tour was customized.

The tour guide was knowledgeable and very friendly. Good for first time visitors. Traditional Japanese lunch was excellent.
Too little time or too many places?

Our guide Soneo was fantastic she did her best to make sure we all enjoyed our tour. It was 2 hours to 5th station Mt Fuji we only had 1/2 an hour there I think it was just under an our to the lunch stop, lunch was very nice traditional lunch set We then drove for another hour to the lake ashi cruise where we had 1/2 an hour in a gift shop. The cruise was very short and underwhelming no time to look around Hakone. Rushed up the ropeway and had 10 mins at the top before the last cable car left. Drove for almost another hour to the bullet train. I think the idea of this tour is great but it’s too much packed into one day

My husband and I were really looking forward to this trip, but was disapointed in the end and would not do this again and do it privately. Considering we were away for 10 hours we were only at Mt Fuji for 30 minutes, so it was a rush job to see everything and then being on Lake Ashi on the cruise, so only 10 minutes if that and then the bullet train we were on for 20 minutes, so only 1hr, the rest travelling. I was hoping that there would be more time to see things around Mt Fuji, so i would do it myself with a private taxi. The bullet train was good.

Unfortunately the tour wasn't off to the best start with pouring rain, but I don't hold that against the touring company of course. The tour guide was excellent helping with information. Only 30 mins at Fuji, which, if we were able to see it, would've been quite brief. Given we couldn't see it, spending 30 mins in a souvenir shop didn't seem worth it. Boat ride was nice, tranquil, but brief. Lunch was...alright, nothing special. Cable cars were closed due to maintainance, why was this not mentioned when we booked, instead went to a museum, again for a very short amount of time, lovely view though. All in all, the tour guide did his best to maximise the experience, but in my opinion, not worth the $$$.
Lucky with the guide and the weather

Our tour guide Tomoko was very knowledgeable, fun, and friendly. She explained things in a very clear and detailed manner reminding me of how English and History school teachers give lessons and tell stories. Our bus was very clean and comfortable driven smoothly and safely by Dryba-san. Our view of Mt. Fuji was excellent considering just the day before it was cloudy and raining all day in Tokyo so we were not expecting a clear view. Our bus was able to make it to the 5th station of Mt. Fuji which is the highest that vehicles can go. We left Mt. Fuji to go to our lunch in a fancy hotel near an amusement park and we were served a typical Japanese meal with udon, vegetables, rice, and chicken - all very delicious. The view of Mt. Fuji from the hotel while we lunched was also great. We headed towards a ropeway aka sky-cable car to see Mt. Fuji from another mountain and the view was spectacular. There was also a view of a beautiful lake. The next stop was to Lake Ashi in Hakone where we took a quick scenic ferry ride to a tourist stop with plenty of shops. We then took the bus again to be dropped off at the Odowara bullet train station where our guide Tomoko made sure we knew where to get on and where to get off for our trip back to Shinjuku, Tokyo. Over-all the day was well spent and my wife and I saw how majestic Mt. Fuji aka Fujiyama is to look at with clear weather conditions.
Absolutely Worthwhile Tour!

We recently enjoyed this day-long tour with our tour guide, Masa, and the keen driver, Hashimoto San. The trip was exactly as advertised, starting with the efficient check-in process at our designated hotel location. Masa kept us entertained and informed throughout the day with his well-prepared visuals and stories. The bus ride took us through green hills and forests so the journey itself was enjoyable. The little villages of Mt Fuji and Lake Ashi were well-worth the visit. The Rope Way, Cruise Boat, and Bullet Train were well times with plenty of opportunities for picture-taking. We truly enjoyed our long day and felt that with Masa's involvement it was a very memorable trip.
