Why Travellers Choose This Tour

Included Madame Tussauds entry makes this tour a budget-friendly way to visit the popular attraction.
The tour begins with a hop on at any of the 40-plus stops on three separate routes. Board one of the open-top buses and enjoy the view with both live commentary from a guide who knows the city inside and out and recorded audio detailing interesting facts and stories. Learn about the history and happenings of the nation’s capital as the bus rolls along from one location to the next.
Hop-off at any of the attractions for a closer look, then, hop back on when it’s convenient. See the sites on the Red Loop (Official National Mall Tour), authorized by the National Park Service and National Mall and Memorial Parks. Take in all the places that are synonymous with the nation’s Capital; The White House, U.S. Capitol, Air and Space Museum, Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, FDR Memorial and the Lincoln Memorial are just some of the iconic landmarks.
Travel the Blue Loop (Arlington and Georgetown Tour), to experience the sites and memorials honoring American heroes. You'll travel over the Potomac River leaving Washington, DC behind and visiting Virginia. You can expect to see Arlington National Cemetery and Pentagon City.
On the Pink Loop, visitors can walk along the Tidal Basin for pictures of the trees or, if they are looking to immerse themselves in historical landmarks, they can visit the Jefferson Memorial and the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial.
Both the 2-day option and the panoramic night tour let you explore the city under the evening sky, visiting its iconic monuments when they're lit up for a different vantage point.

A good way to see the attractions!

We found the trips tour guides to be in formative and friendly! Did find one to be a bit pushy about receiving a tip to the point where she passed around a bag for tips!! The journey is designed to show as many of the major sites possible and the route was spot on!! Could find at the most popular sites to re-board may incur a long wait if the bus fills up!
Fabulous Package!

We loved the package we got through Viator with Big Bus. Lots included, and so easy to use and informative. Agents at Viator were not very familiar with the package, and when I called a couple times before traveling, I got differing information so I was concerned going. However, the bus drivers were great, and everything that was supposed to be included in the package really was. Very happy!
Steer clear!!

Never have I ever experienced such a poorly run company as Big Bus In DC. The buses are in poor condition and the staff are not professional. They dont check tickets and tell you nothing. And they claim to come more frequently than all their competitors. NOT SO. What a waste of money.
Too much traffic

Best take a 2 day voucher. We had 1 day, needed more time. Traffic is a crime. Pity government closes streets so bus can’t get close. Overall nice trip
No information about city given, drivers and tour guides very rude

with the exception of a few of the drivers and guides the whole experience was terrible. We have used the big bus tour in multiple places and have always been pleased, this was a disappointment.
Disappointed in this tour

We booked the Hop On Hop Off tour in other cities and enjoyed it but our experience in DC wasn’t great. We waited over an hour for the bus to arrive. Once we rode that bust to a main line and boarded we realized that there was no one on board to narrate the trip and the audio system was not very good. Will use the Metro to get around in DC in the future.

Great routes. Bus brochure easy to understand & very helpful. All employees helpful, pleasant and knowledgeable. I would use BigBus in the future at other destinations where they provide service
Entertaining ride

We used the Hop-On Hop-Off tour on a cold day and it was done well. The ride is good but the guide, Nor made the ride so much fun. After an almost trip around, we got off and went to Smithsonian Natural History and American History Museums. When we got back on< Nor was again our guide and remembered us. What a treat. Negative was that when we got to end of the route and we stayed on to go to 3rd stop, the crew changed and our guide was George who was almost terrible. His comments were boring and had no emotion to them. If you were watching a training video for guides, George would have been used as an example of what should not be done.

This was the first time we used the Big Bus. We were very pleased. The guides were wonderful and very informative. We will do this again the next time we are in Washington DC.
