The best way to experience the city of Salvador, dive into its history, culture, religiosity, and the habits of the people of Bahia, is to combine the Upper City and Lower City tours into one Full Day tour (see also the descriptions of the Upper and Lower City tours). One of my favorite places in the Upper City is the Pelourinho neighborhood, where besides the beauty of the monuments, squares and colonial houses, you can feel the sympathy, energy and joy of the Soteropoletanos - that's how the locals of Salvador are called - who work and live in this lively neighborhood. Maybe you'll be able to experience some action, like Capoeira dancing or a local drum band performing in the streets. You will have the opportunity to lunch in a cozy, local restaurant and taste one of the delicious regional dishes, such as my favorite, the "moqueca", a stew of fish and or seafood prepared in the African way! This tour offers you an unforgettable experience with satisfaction guaranteed!

* A traveler said: "My wife and I (just us two) had a great day with Fito (our guide) and Lulu (our driver). We visited the old city including the impressive St Francis church and walked around the streets. After the old city we went by car to a restaurant along the ocean and had a great lunch. We saw several other highlights. Fito speaks great English and was very informative. I highly recommend this tour."

On this tour, you will get a different view of the Salvador by visiting its Lower City and the peninsula of Itapagipe. It's completely surrounded by the calm waters of the bay, an oasis of peace at only 8 km from the busy harbor area and my favorite part of the city where I lived for more than 20 years. I recommend a visit to the biggest and swarming open market of the city, called São Joaquim to dive into the daily live and habits of the locals and discover some secrets of the Candomblé, the African religion. We visit neighborhoods like Ribeira, with fantastic views on the Bay of All Saints and its small marinas and the possibility to taste the best ice cream of the city! Then the famous church of Nosso Senhor do Bonfim, a unique place for pilgrimage where you can still feel the syncretism between Catholicism and Candomblé. Finally the Fort of Monte Serrat and Ponta de Humaitá, the most romantic spot in Salvador with the possibility to see one of the most wonderful sunsets of Brazil!

After leaving the hotel we will start our tour by visiting the cable car where you can have a panoramic view of the center of Aracaju and the zoo. The cable car is located within Parque da Cidade, which is part of Morro do Urubu. The park has more than 600 thousand m² of green area and the site is the only one of the city with preserved Atlantic forest. Admission to the park is completely free, but the lift ticket is paid on time at the ticket counter. Next we will go to the Antônio Franco and Thales Ferraz Municipal Markets, which are connected via a flower walkway. In these places we will have the opportunity to know a little of the history of local handicrafts, both embroidery, lace, straw objects and also ceramics. After the market tour, we head to the Sergipana People's Museum, which opened in 2011 and is the first interactive multimedia museum in the north and northeast !. All shown with a lot of technology, innovation and creativity.
