What To Expect

After making your own way to downtown Austin, meet your guide and receive an introduction to the Segway.

Have time to practice the controls for the Segway, then follow your guide into Austin’s streets once you are ready, which generally takes only a few minutes.

Your guide shows your hotels and buildings that are rumored to be haunted and shares their ghostly histories. You'll also stop by landmarks including the The Texas State Capitol Building — an Italian Renaissance Revival-style building with 22 acres (8 hectares) of gardens, Lady Bird Lake, and the165-foot (50 m) high Moonlight Towers, one of the world's only remaining light towers.

Stop at the Congress Avenue Bridge to look for residents of North America’s largest urban bat colony: about 2 million Mexican free-tailed bats that migrate every year to the southwestern United States from central Mexico.

You'll also pass through the 6th Street Entertainment District and hear about Austin's lively music and arts scene. Have time to stop along the way for great photo ops of the highlights of the Texas capital.

It was a fun way to run...
James_H, Nov. 2021
It was a fun way to run through the city. Riding the segway takes good balance but can be figured out by most- especially my 14 yr old. Guide was a good dude and told some good stories. Bats had already migrated so missed that pary. Overall good experience.
Wouldn’t recommend this tour

I was very disappointed with this experience unfortunately. To start with, I don’t believe this experience is appropriate for beginners. The description talks about learning to ride the Segway in a few easy steps. It wasn’t that easy, and I was left behind the entire time. Secondly there wasn’t a lot of stops to talk about the ghosts, and when the guide told stories they weren’t really in depth, just a lot of random facts. We never even went to see bats, the guide just casually said we weren’t going. It was very disappointing. During the tour I was always the last one because I wasn’t comfortable with the Segway yet, and he would start talking about the ghost stuff before I even got there. So I would only hear half of what he was talking about. I found it very rude, the entire tour seemed very rushed, and like the guide didn’t want to be there. And lastly they never went over what happens if someone crashes. My friend unfortunately crashed and fell off, and the guide was way at the front and just kept going. It took him awhile to even realize he had to come back to help her. Overall I didn't have a good experience at all, and wouldn’t recommend.
Felt safe and saw a lot......Lots of fun

Great time hearing all the stories and fun facts, and beautiful route for scenery. One of the girls in our group had a wipeout not 5 minutes into our tour, and our guide, Bryan, had the patience to drag her around with him for the entire rest of the tour. Wonderful experience and would definitely ride again!
Great experience

Great way to explore Austin with the entire family. Segways are easy and safe to ride. The ghosts stories added a nice touch to the tour.
