What To Expect
After making your own way to downtown Austin, meet your guide and receive an introduction to the Segway.
Have time to practice the controls for the Segway, then follow your guide into Austin’s streets once you are ready, which generally takes only a few minutes.
Your guide shows your hotels and buildings that are rumored to be haunted and shares their ghostly histories. You'll also stop by landmarks including the The Texas State Capitol Building — an Italian Renaissance Revival-style building with 22 acres (8 hectares) of gardens, Lady Bird Lake, and the165-foot (50 m) high Moonlight Towers, one of the world's only remaining light towers.
Stop at the Congress Avenue Bridge to look for residents of North America’s largest urban bat colony: about 2 million Mexican free-tailed bats that migrate every year to the southwestern United States from central Mexico.
You'll also pass through the 6th Street Entertainment District and hear about Austin's lively music and arts scene. Have time to stop along the way for great photo ops of the highlights of the Texas capital.

Fast Way to see the city
SuziB, Sept 2022
We had done a taster session on a Segway in Singapore and loved it and thought this would be a good way to see the city. There was 8 of us in the group and our guide was fantastic. He let us have a test drive of the Segway to get used to it prior to leaving. He was very knowledgeable on the journey and ensured the group were all still behind him and everyone was ok. We stopped at a convenience store which was great to get a cold drink as it was really warm even in the evening.
The only disappointing part was we were expecting to see quite a few thousand bats and we were were lucky to see a few hundred. I'm not sure why we didn't see many that evening. We had great spots on the bridge and were still able to take some pics but hearing about a million bats that live under the bridge and not seeing that many is disappointing. however I know with animals you cant force them to come out and we were happy to still have saw a few hundred.
Unfortunately nearly at the end of our tour someone stopped in front of me and I was going a bit quick and tried to turn to avoid crashing into them and ended up falling wit the Segway. The guide was fantastic. He came over to me immediately. Checked I was ok, gave me 1st aid and ensured I was ok to go back on the Segway to return. I was more concerned I had damaged the Segway but he assured me the Segway was fine.
Guide was very knowledgeable, fantastic and ensured all our safety during the tour. Really enjoyed the tour and the freedom of being on the Segway's whizzing across the city. Defo would do again, defo would recommend and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves even if my hip and elbow didn't agree haha.
Great birthday Segway tour!

We had a blast for my husband’s birthday. It was our first time on Segways; Todd was a great tour guide and instructor. 5 STARS!
Sarah_C, Jun 2022
We were a 55 year old, a late forties person and a 16 year old. The Segway class was excellent. The tour was the perfect amount of time, the safety directions were clear, the guides were friendly and knowledgeable. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because I wish they had spent less time describing the party destinations and more time describing the architecture, art, and history —- not a lot— just a little would have been fine. Otherwise everything else was 5 stars. I highly recommend this tour.
A fun time!

The guides ensure your safety and get you comfortable on the Segway before heading out. So much fun riding around and it was a perfect night seeing the bats fly. I had a nice pic but couldn’t load it.
Bats in Austin
Brenda_G, Jun 2022
Good ghost story telling, bats were great to see next to the Colorado River…guide was great until he went through a red light with my sons right behind him…just thinking safety is the first priority..

We had a really great experience! I was nervous to ride the Segway but by the end we were all zooming around. Alex was really nice and a great tour guide.
A must do in Austin

Had a great evening on getting through the city on a Segway. Our guide, sorry forgot the name not his fault he was awesome, long curly black hair w/glasses. Very knowledgeable on city buildings and ghost story telling. Gave us a great spot to watch the bats under the bridge because u can see them better in the lights of the buildings downtown and on the bridge. Did an awesome job keeping us together and safe. A must to do if your wanting to see the bats the easiest way with traffic and people.

Was so much fun! My husband and and i did this tour. I STRUGGLED the first half of the tour on the Segway but our instructor was so sweet and patient.

My daughter and I loved this! Robbie, our guide was fantastic! He had lots of great info on all the tour stops and kept things fun.
The segways were tricky at first but the staff helped us get comfy with them and made sure we were prepared before we left.
We spent several hours zipping around Austin and had a blast!
We’d do it again in a heartbeat!
Riding the segways...
Ruth_R, Apr 2022
Riding the segways through Downtown Austin was a lot of fun.
We had hoped for more haunted stories but overall it was a great experience.
Yvonne_B, Apr 2022
The air was crisp and I enjoyed touring around downtown with my cousins. Our tour guide was a great instructor and entertaining.

Seeing the bats fly off at sunset was very cool. The Ghost stories were fun. The city needs to clean up the littered electric scooters left on the sidewalks.
Not your usual Segway tour
Marilyn_H, Apr 2022
We had a really fun time and Alex, our guide, was very good pointing out places of interest, telling us ghost stories and just entertaining us in general! I highly recommend!!!

Was a nice tour bats were not in full swing as it was early in the year. Our guide was good getting us through the site as the north by northwest festival was going on.
It was a ton of fun!

Alex helps make you feel at ease if you have never been on a Segway before. He gave an excellent tour with a lot of fun facts about Austin.
It was a fun way to run...
James_H, Nov 2021
It was a fun way to run through the city. Riding the segway takes good balance but can be figured out by most- especially my 14 yr old. Guide was a good dude and told some good stories. Bats had already migrated so missed that pary. Overall good experience.
Wouldn’t recommend this tour
Camie_B, Oct 2021
I was very disappointed with this experience unfortunately. To start with, I don’t believe this experience is appropriate for beginners. The description talks about learning to ride the Segway in a few easy steps. It wasn’t that easy, and I was left behind the entire time. Secondly there wasn’t a lot of stops to talk about the ghosts, and when the guide told stories they weren’t really in depth, just a lot of random facts. We never even went to see bats, the guide just casually said we weren’t going. It was very disappointing. During the tour I was always the last one because I wasn’t comfortable with the Segway yet, and he would start talking about the ghost stuff before I even got there. So I would only hear half of what he was talking about. I found it very rude, the entire tour seemed very rushed, and like the guide didn’t want to be there. And lastly they never went over what happens if someone crashes. My friend unfortunately crashed and fell off, and the guide was way at the front and just kept going. It took him awhile to even realize he had to come back to help her. Overall I didn't have a good experience at all, and wouldn’t recommend.
Felt safe and saw a lot......Lots of fun
