Overview

Experience Kanchanaburi’s most vivid wartime sites on a full-day tour from Bangkok to the River Kwai. Stand on top of the symbolic bridge and learn the tragic story of the ‘Death Railway.’ Explore a poignant war cemetery filled with Allied soldiers’ graves, and immerse yourself in their stories at the nearby JEATH Museum. Board a train along the railway track those soldiers built and disembark for a trackside lunch before returning to Bangkok, 80 miles (130 kilometers) to the east.

I have previously traveled with this company before on other day tours, so was expecting a similar level of standard for this tour. However, I was extremely disappointment and left with a bitter taste in my mouth from this day trip. Basically this tour is an overpriced and extremely long taxi ride to the river Kwai, where the cost doesn't even include a seat in the train on the death railway!! Once we reached the death railway train station we were made to pay extra to our guide, above the prepaid tour cost, in order for us to receive a seat on the train, with this cost being double that for locals as dictated by signs. Hellfire pass in not included in this trip and if you wish to see it, be prepared to pay through the nose for it as the drivers charge astronomical costs. The war cemetery and JEATH Museum were good see, the only worthwhile aspect of this trip.
