Get a taste for Boston’s best pizza and beer on a guided, 2.5-hour pub crawl around the city. Boston taverns are legendary. In fact, our founding fathers planned the American Revolution in one of them, and it’s still open today. Step inside this historic pub and grab a cold one (or two) along with some of Boston’s best pizza. During the tour, you’ll explore some of the city’s oldest neighborhoods, like Beacon Hill, the Blackstone Block, the North End and Charlestown and two taverns.
  • A 2.5-hour walking tour of Boston’s taverns, pizzerias and historic neighborhoods
  • Taste what makes Boston pizza unique with three slices of pizza
  • Walk in the footsteps of America’s most famous revolutionaries
  • Embark on a scenic ferry ride across Boston Harbor
  • Cover 375-plus years of history in 3 hours with an informative guide
Delight in Boston’s best pizza and beer on this historic 2.5-hour walking tour around the city. After meeting the guide, begin this Boston pub crawl in the North End, the oldest neighborhood in the city. A slice of pizza at this end of town equals a slice of history. In fact, the infamous Great Brink’s Robbery happened here, the largest heist in the history of the United States at the time, back in 1950.

The fun has only begun. Head to Charlestown to see the sites, including the Bunker Hill Monument, the USS Constitution and a tavern that dates back to 1785. Have another helping of pizza here before taking a quick ferry ride to the historic Long Wharf pier. Check out Old North Church, where the famous “One if by land, and two if by sea” signal is said to have been sent, and the Old State House, the oldest public building still standing in Boston. Get an amazing view of Boston Harbor and the city skyline from Fan Pier.

It’s a short walk back to the North End for a final piece of pizza and a trip to the Blackstone Block, the oldest commercial district in Boston. The tour ends at either Bell in Hand, the longest continuously operating tavern in the United States, or the Green Dragon, a basement tavern known as the Headquarters of the Revolution. Have a cold one to commemorate the moment and toast the day.

The pizza 3 were all good. The third one won a major prize last year and we could taste why. The three taverns visited all had good, different local brews. This tour provided a very good introduction to the Italian section of Boston and a few highlights of local lore and history. The tour guide was knowledgeable and clearly stated his opinions.

We were the only people on the tour and had tickets for Elvis Costello that night so we cut the tour short. Guide was good and crammed as much as possible into the time we had with him.

Jimmy was fantastic, funny and very informative. He knew his history, which made it even more enjoyable! Even though it rained in the beginning, the sun did shine. This tour was a great way to learn some amazing history about Boston and taste good pizza at the same time.

My children and I loved this tour! It was great to hear the history of the North End and eat at three different Pizza Restaurants and a couple of pubs. We went back to one of the places the next day for pizza and pastries! I would definitely recommend this tour if you are interested in the history of Boston and the good food in the North End.

This was not really what we thought. The Taverns part of the tour was one tavern and you have to buy your beer in addition to the cost of this ticket. The description said we would end up at either The Bell in Hand or The Green Dragon. Not sure what one only one Tavern we went to but it was a nice place. The pizza was cheese pizza 2 places and one BBQ chicken pizza. Not really that impressive. The ferry ride back to where we started was a nice touch though.
