This tour was not in English, it was in every other language possible. I booked English, not Spanish, French, or dutch.

The tour company provided very good service. The guide was very professional and well informed. I'd like to visit again in the off season (if there is one). It's a lovely scenic place but was packed with tourists (like me) which made everything crowded.

Tour was very nice. We covered most of the old town and had a good boat ride through the river and canals.

Excellent tour despite the bad weather. I would only recommend that the company make it more obvious when booking that they don't pick up at every hotel as that's what we were expecting and it wasn't the case. Our hotel wasn't on the pick up list.

This was our second tour sponsored by Viator. As good as our tour outside of Amsterdam was, the one we took to Bruges was incredibly disappointing. Firstly, we were told to be ready at 9:30 for a bus pick-up near our Brussels hotel. We were picked up at 9:45 and brought to a second bus that was the one going to Bruges but we sat on the bus until 10:30 am waiting for late arriving passengers. No explanation was provided....we just sat and sat and sat for over 30 minutes....... Once the tour to Bruges commenced, we were shocked to find out that the tour would be in 3 languages...english, French and Spanish. That meant that everything the guide said throughout the day had to be told over and over and over in 3 languages. It made a long day that much longer. The trip also advertised that there would be a voluntary canal cruise you could take once in Bruges. Once we arrived in Bruges, we weren't given an option - we were told the price and the guide stated it was part of the day's itinerary. Once we were on the small boat for the cruise which our guide didn't even bother to take with us, the skipper of the boat stated to us no less than 3 times that tips to him would be greatly appreciated and had his hand out expecting his tip as each person departed the boat. Everything about this tour was very unprofessional.....

Not worth the money, given a number...

Not worth the money, given a number of drawbacks. To begin with, an overly brisk trout of more than a third of a mile to get from Brussels Tours office to the bus. Complaint to the guide Frank went unacknowledged he was clearly more interested in getting to his next cigarette break than in the safety and comfort of his group. The entire tour, which involved considerable walking to and from buses should have been advised so client could make a considered decision, at a rapid pace, though others in the group also hobbling. Guide unlikeable, at least in stilted, at times heavily accented English, but English clients were appended to a largely Spanish tour group. The guide took a commission of 3-4 on the boat tour, which evidently was condoned by operator, since not included - as it should have been in the price of the tour. The boat tour, at least in English, was largely incomprehensible. All things considered, one would be better off taking the train with a good guide book.

This was booked via brussels city tours. I now regret booking this tour. I was excited tosee the beautiful city of Bruges with my hubby and kids. But the awful experience started with the worst guide we ever had in all the tours. The guide spoke little English with poor interaction with those English speaking visitors. At 10 am, we assembled at the office which we were asked to. However, they made us walk to another spot where bus waited. They could have asked us to assemble where the bUs waited ! what a waste of time. And most explanations while we were traveling in the bus were in other languages. It was 12.30 noon when we reached.Once we got down, there were only few toilets for which we had to Que for almost an hour. The guide didnt let us know whether we are heading for lunch or not. The huge crowd was almost impossible to shout to ask the guide anything. The guide disregarded any queries. I had to make sure whether to buy something from the shop near the toilets or await lunch if we are heading towards restaurant. He didnt say anything. My husband grabbed a waffle for the kids and few of the travellors were in the que.. But the guide moved on and had to rush without the snack ! he made us walk for a while and by this time it was 1.30 pm. Thankfully someone with french or dutch knowldge asked him about the lunch and he said it would be at 3 pm. And my hubby grabbed another quick snack from the backpack for the kids. it was a crowded day in Easter weekend. Most guides had an Umbrella or a flag which their tourists could identify their guide. However, thsi guide ahd NONE. He was SMOKING all the way on faces of the tourists. As I had kids, I had to avoid staying close. He was coughing so much with smokers' cough that it was impossible to decipher what he spoke. He took us straight to the Boat cruise int he canal as he said tourists are crowded and he would allow to see the canal for photos ont he way back. He prefered the boat first, lunch and then the perosnal time for photos and explore. The boat ride was good. Bruges was awaesome at thsi point. And we walked again to the market Square with buildings and were given an hour for lunch. Once we assmebled, the guide came late and took us back to the canalside and allowed only 10 minutes as he said the tour will get late. We were disappointed as we were told initally the other way around. Other tourists had spent first with canal walk and then went tosee buildings, but we did the reverse with loss of time! Most unpleasant tour we ever had ! I wish I had booked with any other tours. I have to plan to visit BRUGES with any other operator to enjoy this lovely place.
