The trip was very well organized and the staff was very attentive and polite. David explained everything very clear both in English and Spanish, so all the people in the tour was able to understand.

The guide had terrible attitude. Did not call us in the hotel when we were late just by 5 min and left. Did not explain things well in English. When asked, he replied that we were asking for a private tour!!! Did not stop for bathroom break. Very disappointed.

Pyramids were cool but everything else was a waste of time

Where do I start? You go on a tour bus and it of course takes 2 hours to pick everyone up. Then You drive 3 hours stopping twice for 15 minutes. After being picked up at 7:00 AM we finally got to Chichen Itza at 1:00 PM! However, before we got there, we had "Authentic Mexican Cuisine". Was supposed to be part of the tour however, of course drinks were not part of the tour. The food was horrible. I got the runs from the food. Reminded me of a Chinese Buffet where the heat lamps just stay on 24/7 and there were flies on the food and the ladies serving didn't have hair nets or gloves. Then again it is Mexico. Got to Chichen Itza. It was cool. Very hot but that had nothing to do with the site. Very interesting. We were there about 2 hours so we learned a lot. Then we left and went to a "Cenote". I have been to a few cenote's and this one was basically the worst ever. Reminded me of the River in Deliverance. Looked dark and gross and it was overcrowded. We stayed like 45 min then it took another 3 hours to get back finally at 9:00 PM. Cesar the tour guide was cool I guess although stopping in Valloidad was dumb and waste of time. I will say it was weird when he asked everyone for tips. He said that the people that get offended when asked for a tip are seen as disrespectful people. I guess I am disrespectful because i jumped off that bus and didnt look back. If you are considering this trip, consider something else.

It was a great day! Marco our tour guide was great and funny. Our driver Rafael was great too! Even took the Spanish speakers through the tour while Marco took the English speakers. Learned so much about the Mayan culture and the ruins. Totally worth it.

We had an amazing trip with David! He was so incredibly knowledgeable, it was a pleasure to learn about Mayan history and culture (and of course, Chichen Itza). The colonial church, cenote, and Chichen Itza were all absolutely beautiful. Also, the lunch was delicious. Probably the best tacos I had all week in Mexico! The bus was also very comfortable and had AC. Simply a wonderful experience overall! Even the kids loved it!

This 13 hour trip could have been shortened by leaving out Valladolid and craft market. Chichen Itza good and cenote amazing

Chichen Itza was an amazing place to visit. This is a must see - and was the highlight of our tip (Coba and Tulum were a very close second). Tour guide Cesar was funny and friendly. He made the bus trip seem not as long. We didn't end up having him as our tour guide as he stayed with the Spanish group and we were in the English group so my kids could understand the tour but the other tour guide we ended up with was also informative. Lunch was delicious and at an authentic Mexican restaurant and the cenote was wonderful as well. Overall, a fantastic and worthwhile excursion and, as I said, staff was great too. My biggest recommendation is to buy souvenirs at Chichen Itza (tour guide told us not to as they might be made in China and don't support local Mayan economy but we later realized he earns a commission from souvenirs purchased in the village where we ate and is the real reason he encourages everyone to buy there). Prices were much better at Chichen Itza (we bought most of our stuff there for this reason) and seem very authentic - we even saw some of the vendors making items while sitting at their tables to sell. Other disappointment was we only had 15 minutes in Valladolid. While it is not a big city and doesn't require a lot of time to explore, 15 minutes was just way too little. We basically walked to the church, around the central park/plaza once and back on the bus. 30-45 minutes would have been better. Bring your own water as they don't provide any (but just one bottle as the water gets hot quickly anyway walking around in that heat). There are places to buy cold water at Chichen Itza as well.
