Traveler Tips

We were able to negotiate those costs and that is the only way to get photos of that experience as cameras of any kind are not allowed.
The bus ride is picking up a bunch of people including you and driving you to the park and then the same case driving you back home… bring head phones and a full battery.

Great time!
Rebecca_N, May 2022
WE had a great time. It is a great Snorkel waterpark with a lot of fun things to do. Just be sure to use plenty of the sunblock they give you as you are not allowed to bring in your own. For the protection of the critters.
Amazing, here is some tips !

It’s long but a lot of good Info ! What a fun place ! So much to do and feels like there is not enough time :) The bus ride however was 2 hours long and there was no bathroom on board, nor any stops. So bring water in case of traffic but dont drink tooo much 😂!!! before arriving to park The tour guide gave us some pointers: He mentioned getting a locker near the entrance , in which we did !!! I recommend going a little further into the park, so if you need back into your locker you’re not having to walk all the way back to the entrance . I recommend starting with the float for it takes quiet some time from start and finish but sooo beautiful ! And then booking an activity at the entrance. ( I would be nervous about booking an activity and then missing your start time due to relaxing and floating) The food was good and the drinks were awesome as well. The park supplies towels, you just have to ask which was a plus, so you don’t have to carry around your towel : it truly is a unique experience, if you want it to be even more unique I recommend bringing extra money for additional activities they are indeed pricey and add up but are quiet unique ! We decided to opt out of any of the additional activities because of the over all price for admission. It is a super long day, we got picked up at 7:15am and didn’t arrive back until past 8:30 pm ! They mention multiple times that phones and cameras are not allowed !!! THEY ARE ! They say this to get you to purchase the photo package ! However, That being said we wish we would have purchased the package for the awesome unique photos they are defiantly way ahead of the game in the photo set up ! Over all 5 stars ! Some key points from us to you. Do not be late ! They will leave without you ! Our bus waiting 30 min for a couple and they left them behind, it is indeed a $200+ taxi to get back to Cancun . * if you get car sick sit towards the front ! * if you want to sit together, get to the bus early enough, for solo travelers always sit by themselves and then your stuck with one open seat here and there !! Park seemed over whelming at the beginning but it’s so big people disperse! * water slides are fun and fast ! That being said the blue one doesn’t have a big hill at the end and the white one does, so make sure if you don’t like going super fast and then finishing with a warp speed water entree, do the blue one for its not as intense, when you walk up ! Do the light house look out and then hit the slide on the way down for you can knock them both out at once! At the end of the day tons of people are drunk and it is funny people watching :) Xoxo 💋 enjoy Xelah it truly is a hidden wonder !
Extra activities Cost more money
Hoang_L, May 2022
Great facilities. All inclusive foods and drinks were delicious and great. Only upsetting issue was that any of the fun activities were extra. Swimming and walking around is included but any activities with animals or zip bike or speed boat was an up sell. All of which stayed empty because not many people were willing to pay after expensive park admission already.
The best

This park was great. The park is very well laid out and there is so much to do. I believe that this is a two day experience. The people here are friendly and very helpful. The food is great. All of the activates are so much fun. I will be coming back here in the future.
Tons of fun.
Maurice_A, Apr 2022
All day fun with plenty of things to do. Nice food options and tours being offered. The power xnorkel was my favorite.

Would not recommend.
Jacki_D, Apr 2022
We booked the Cancun-Xelha excursion. We did have a rough start. The transportation pick up was incorrect. No one came to pick us up. We had to hire another driver to take us, which cost us an additional $200 US dollars and more than an hour of our day. Once we got to Xelha, the excursion was really fun and we used the Viator driver to take us back to our resort. It ended well, but we were so upset that pick up information was incorrect and not communicated, and that we had to pay an extra $200. Next time, we will skip Viator, hire a private driver and just pay park entrance at Xelha.

If you’re ok with standing in line.
Omar_P, Mar 2022
The lines were ridiculous. Spent 20-40 minutes in line for a drink or to eat.So much time wasted and activities were pricey.

Always love our time at Xel-Ha - awesome place for family and kids - the interactions with the marine life and the option to do things at your own pace makes for a great experience!
Long ride from Cancun
Christal_D, Mar 2022
We had a good time but the amount of time to get there & back from Cancun was 2 hours each way. The bus stopped at several hotels then took us all to a staging area & we all changed buses before heading to the park. Once there we had a good time but mist of the cool activities had additional fees that added up. Like $139 a van person to swim with dolphins. Just make sure to plan for extra expenses or you will be done in 3-4 hours with several hours left to wait for the bus. Food was nothing to brag about but we did not get hungry. Biggest issue was the travel time & extra stops.
