After morning pickup from your hotel in Phan Thiet or Mui Ne, you'll be transferred to the pier where numerous fishing boats are just returning from the sea with their daily catch. You'll board a restored army Jeep for the adventurous journey up to Bau Trang, aka Lotus Lake or White Lake, via a coastal route from Hon Rom. The trip from Phan Thiet covers a distance of about 27 miles (45 km).
Feel the cool, tropical breeze while listening to the waves and gazing at the never-ending slopes of white sand. Your off-road vehicle will conquer Virgin Hill, the highest part of this geological oddity, which boasts views of White Lake and surrounding lowland forests. Look for blooming lotuses, mallard ducks, and other birdlife on the shimmering lake surface.
Make a stop at the Fairy Stream (Suoi Tien), a clear waterway where you can soak your feet among bamboo forests, boulders, and red sand dunes behind a village. Take advantage of photo ops here before returning to your hotel.
