Be ready for hotel pickup in Chengdu around 8am. Meet your private guide and driver, then embark on a 2-hour journey through the scenic countryside. Get to know your guide, ask any questions you may have, or just relax and watch the landscape pass by.
Once you reach Leshan, walk through the immaculately landscaped grounds and up the steps leading to the 233-foot (71-meter) statue. The Buddha's toes rest on the water's edge, where the Qingyi, Dadu, and Min rivers meet. Snap some photos from this vantage point and then continue to the top, home to temples such as Lingyun and Wuyou, as well as the Hall of Arhats.
Opt to upgrade with a cruise on the river from the opposite bank, which gives additional views of the immense statue.
Your guide will help you pick a spot for lunch (included) before heading back to Chengdu, where you'll be dropped back at your hotel around 4pm.
