After hotel pickup in central Chengdu, your evening starts at a hot pot restaurant for dinner. When you arrive, sit down to a table, on the center of which sits a simmering pot of spicy or less-spicy stock. Create your own stew by adding seafood, meat, and veggies with your fellow diners, enjoying a social experience where you can chat with each other while making your meal.
When you're done eating, you'll be transferred to a tea house at Chengdu Culture Park for the Sichuan opera. As the show begins, enjoy a performance filled with dialogue, humor, acrobatics, puppetry, dancing, music, and acting, all of which honor the Sichuan province's history of arts and creativity.
Known for acts such as Changing Faces and Rolling Light, Sichuan opera might seem more like a play than traditional opera, as most acts are based on folk tales, legends, and classic novels. When the show ends, you'll be taken back to your hotel.
