Begin your day at the Dujianyan Panda Base with 7:10am pickup at your Chengdu hotel, after which you'll travel about 1.5 hours to Shiquiao Village.
Once you arrive at the panda base, you'll meet the staff and change into a volunteer outfit. Get an orientation about the facility's history and its mission: the study of disease control and rescue of wild pandas. The base is home to around 40 pandas, including the well-known Tai Shan.
Spend the day preparing food for the pandas and cleaning their enclosures, cracking bamboo for them, and feeding them snacks. Learn about panda biology and behavior, as well as what you can do to further conservation efforts for this endangered species. Volunteers should come prepared for a full day of work; daily volunteer count is limited to 30 participants, and a certificate of health is required.
Midday, take a break for a buffet lunch, and then try the Panda tea while learning more about panda.
Around 3:30pm, depart for the return trip to Chengdu and drop-off at your original departure point.
