Overview

Thailand is renowned for its delicious cuisine, but tucking into street food can be intimidating for first-time visitors who don’t speak the language. On this 4-hour guided tour of Chiang Mai, you’ll ride in a traditional songthiew; visit the Three Kings Monuments and Muang Mai market; and sample local specialties such as ‘Sai Oua’, ‘khao soi’, and mango sticky rice.
  • 4-hour food tasting tour of Chiang Mai by songthiew
  • Explore Chiang Mai aboard a traditional songthiew taxi
  • Spot city landmarks including the Three Kings Monuments
  • Sample an array of street food at the Muang Mai market
  • Tuck into local specialties such as ‘Sai Oua’, ‘khao soi’, and mango sticky rice
  • Small-group tour limited to 10 people ensures a personalized experience
Meet your guide and small group of up to 10 people at Tapae Gate in central Chiang Mai in time for a 9am departure. Then, set out on a tour of the city’s culinary hotspots, traveling aboard a traditional songthiew (an open-air taxi). The first stop of the day is the Muang Mai wholesale market, where you can experience the buzzing atmosphere of a local market, and sample an array of regional delicacies, including Sai Oua, a sausage dish from Northern Thailand.

Pause at a popular restaurant to enjoy a bowl of Khao Soi noodles, another Chiang Mai specialty, then make a stop to see the grand Three Kings Monuments, in the heart of the Old City. The morning’s menu isn’t finished yet – there’s still time to tuck into savory chicken and rice, and sample Thailand’s famous mango sticky rice.

After four hours eating your way around the city, your tour ends back in central Chiang Mai.
