Meet your guide at the Denali National Park Boardwalk prior to your flight's takeoff time of 5pm.
Board your plane, flown by an experienced Alaskan bush pilot, and settle into your seat. Slip on your voice-activated headset and watch the scenery out the large windows as your plane takes off, bound for Bettles, Alaska. This small town is located off the grid, 35 miles (56km) north of the Arctic Circle in the foothills of the Brooks Range. Founded in the late 19th century, this town is surrounded by pristine wilderness and is now home to just about a dozen year-round residents.
Once you land in Bettles, you can opt to take a guided tour offered by the Bettles Lodge, which includes Bettles itself and the neighboring Eskimo village of Evansville. You can also opt to have dinner at the Bettles Lodge; both activities are at your own expense.
You will return to Denali at about 9:30pm.
