We really enjoyed this tour! Our host was Carol, and she was knowledgeable and passionate about the area. She really went above and beyond to make sure that we had a great day! My husband watches the show, and I do not, so I selected this tour specifically because previous reviewers have said that in addition to the GOT elements, it was also a great overall history tour, and I could not agree more! We learned about the history of Girona and the people, and also saw several sites that were important from a historical factor but not necessarily related to the show. That being said, I feel that we also visited every single scene area from the show, so the big fans will feel like they are getting an immersive experience when it comes to covering those sites!
One nice touch was the iPad- Carol had one with her, so that every time we stopped at a scene location, we were able to watch a video of it as we looked at the spot. I saw other tours that did not have this, and they would be explaining and kind of enacting the scenes to explain what exactly was shot there. Having the actual video was 1000x better!
She allowed us to ask a ton of questions, and really knew the city well. She also made great lunch recommendations for after the tour. The starting location was easy to find, and she was right on time to meet us. I feel that the tour really made us feel more connected to the city and the area, and I am very grateful for the experience.
this was a great tour for Game of Thrones fans--so many scenes shot here--and for those interested in Girona. Our guide was a native who knew everything there is to know about the city, which is fascinating, and the ins and outs of the GOT shoot. would definitely recommend.
Honestly, this was the highlight of our 8 days in Spain! Marcus was a wonderful guide, my husband and I agreed it was the best of our international tours we've taken. So much fun, and lots of extra history tidbits. Highly recommend.
We did this tour with Carme Adamuz. She obviously loved the town of Girona and it showed in the passionate way she spoke about its history and growth. Her insights about the town added to the fun filled walk. What was nice was that she didn't restrict herself to Game of Thrones but took us through the history of the town.
tour guide was fantastic and we absolutely would recommend this tour to anyone. My boys had seen the series but I hadn't and it didn't matter - great walking tour which covered all the areas I wanted to see in Girona!!
We experienced an excellent walking tour with Susanna. She had great knowledge of the history of Girona and the architecture. She told us personal stories about the Spanish Civil War. She had an iPad to show us the scenes from Game of Thrones while we were in spots where it was film. She is a delightful guide and it was thoroughly enjoyable
Marc did an excellent job as our tour guide and went the extra mile to tell us about the history of Girona and surrounding areas. He was very knowledgeable about the Game of Thrones connection with Girona, the areas they filmed, and the experience we had during the tour was nothing but phenomenal. I would highly recommend this tour and it was one of the main highlights of our trip to Barcelona for sure. I would highly recommend the drive to Girona to experience everything this place has to offer and again, many thanks to Marc our tour guide for an absolutely fantastic experience.
