Full-day Outlander tour
Go back in time with Claire and Jamie to 1740s Scotland
Visit filming locations used for Lallybroch, Castle Leoch, and Crainsmuir
After pickup in Glasgow or outside Edinburgh, depending on option selected when booking, your Outlander day tour starts with the drive to your first stop, Doune Castle, used for the Mackenzie home Castle Leoch. Additionally, this castle has been used for Winterfell scenes in Game of Thrones. Continue to Falkland, the scene of Inverness, where you just might expect Caitriona Balfe and Tobias Menzies to walk down the street in their 1940s apparel, followed by a visit to Midhope Castle, used for Lallybroch. This location is a private estate, so access cannot be guaranteed on every tour; if you aren't able to see Midhope Castle, you'll visit Hopetoun House instead. Finally, head to Blackness Castle, used as the site of Fort William and some Wentworth scenes. Throughout your tour, enjoy the scenery of the Scottish countryside and learn a bit about the region's history and culture. Hear a couple of Gaelic sayings, and enjoy the chance to sample a wee dram of Scotch whisky, if you wish. You'll feel just like Claire and Jamie as you're immersed in the world of Outlander, and if you're lucky, you may even have a guide who was an extra on the show, providing insight into the filming, the cast, and the crew. Your tour ends with return to the train station for Edinburgh passengers, followed by return to Glasgow for the final drop-off.

Our guide, Barry was knowledgable about Outlander and interesting. It was apparent he had spent considerable time researching the locations filmed for the series. Going into the open castles was like walking back into time.
This tour was just amazing!!!! thank you to Caitriona who was a our tour guide, who was so wonderful and excellent story telling. She not only give us amazing inside scope on the locations, but also wonderful stories of the history of the locations. Also being an extra in the cast of Outlander made this even more enjoyable. I recommend this tour to anyone who is an Outlander fan! Enjoy!!!
The tour was great, our tour guide was actually an extra on Outlander. The only negative is that the tour did not include admission to the castles on the tour and that should be clearly explained. It did not affect me and my friends as we had purchased the Scottish Historic Pass to use while in Scotland, but there were others on the tour that it did affect.
James Kennedy, the tour guide, was exceedingly friendly, accommodating and caring. He drove through a dangerous wind storm on Sept 19 and tried his best to get us to all the sights listed on the tour. There were road closures due to falling branches so he took alternate routes. He is to commended. The tour itself was informative and insightful despite the wind. James pointed out all the relevant features and spoke knowingly of the scenes that were shot there. We highly recommend this tour and if you can get James to be your guide you would be as fortunate as we were. Also we were booked for the 18th but had to switch it to the 19th and the company accommodated us at the last minute.
I was the only one on the tour that day and instead of the company cancelling or changing the day I was given a private tour which was greatly appreciated. My tour guide Neil was so accomodating and made the tour really special. I had travelled from Australia and this tour was definitely the highlight of my holiday. Thank you
