Explore the World Heritage-listed rain forest of the Gold Coast hinterland on this full-day tour to Lamington National Park. Rumble along remote tracks in a 4WD vehicle, soak up spectacular views from the summit of Tamborine Mountain and explore the subtropical rain forest on a guided nature walk. At O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat, get a closer look at native plants, birds and even koalas on an elevated treetop walk. Travel off the beaten path to explore the subtropical beauty of the Gold Coast hinterland. After pickup at your hotel, travel in a rugged 4WD vehicle along an original pioneer trail to the summit of Tamborine Mountain. Make a pit stop at Gallery Walk for morning tea service with scones and cream, plus a chance to browse locally made arts and crafts.

Continue on to Lamington National Park, part of the World Heritage-listed Godwana Rainforests. Explore the park on a guided nature walk, and learn how local Aboriginal people sourced food and medicine from the forest.

Midday, stop at Spring Valley for a traditional barbecue lunch served with Australian wine. (See Itinerary below for a sample menu.) Enjoy free time to try your hand at local pastimes like boomerang and whip-cracking, and take a dip in a nearby rock pool if you like. 

In the afternoon, visit O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat — a family-owned nature resort. Choose from a variety of activities such as hand-feeding birds or the popular treetop walk, where you can stroll across elevated boardwalks for an up-close glimpse of native flora and fauna. You might even spot a koala sleeping in the trees! 

Relax on the scenic return drive through wallaby-inhabited pastures to Gold Coast, where your full-day tour concludes with hotel drop-off in the early evening.

Normally when we have vegan passengers, we ask our lunch venue to provide for you a vegan patty and also a separate dairy-free salad to go with the other condiments we provide including fresh fruit, bread rolls and a drink. As expected, the ride up to Tamborine Mountain (4WD) was very bumpy, and some parts of the journey to the national park had winding roads, however we found it to be tolerable. The vehicle is clean and can accommodate a group of 15 or so. The walk around the national park and the mountain was very manageable and relaxing. Our guide is informative, took care of everyone and paced everything very well such that we could do all of what was listed in the itinerary (also thanks to the great weather). BBQ lunch was awesome too. Overall a tour that I would highly recommend!
