After hotel pickup in the morning by private vehicle, your Guangzhou day tour starts with a visit to Ancient Huangpu Port and Village, located near the modern-day port on the eastern end of Pazhou Island.
Once the Chinese end of the maritime Silk road, the port was also heavily involved in the opium trade. Check out the small history museum for background on the area, and visit Pak Tai Temple, if you wish. Most of your time spent here will be walking around the maze of streets and alleys that make up the village.
Next, head to Lychee Bay Scenic Area, which dates back to the 2nd century BC. Formed by the rivers and lakes flowing into the Pearl River, the area is home to five bridges, namely the 187-foot (57-meter) Longjing Bridge.
Enjoy a lunch of traditional Chinese dishes before visiting your next stop, Qingping Medicine Market, known for its array of herbal medicines, food, and flowers. Then continue to Beijing Road Ancient Avenue, an important commercial area for many centuries. Look down through the glass in some sections to see stone-paved roads from the Song and Yuan dynasties, and admire old city gates and sections of the wall.
Finally, you'll be driven to a dock on the Pearl River to board your 2-hour dinner cruise with your guide. Take in the lights of the city and historical attractions along the river as you pass under bridges. On board, enjoy a buffet dinner and catch views of Canton Tower, one of the tallest towers in the world.
Your tour ends with return to your hotel after your cruise.
