Please your palate with the culinary delights of Southern Vietnam on a 2.5-hour culinary walking tour of Ho Chi Minh City. With an expert gastronomic guide, immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of local markets and rustic restaurants to sample local specialties such as ‘bahn mi’ baguettes and popular rice dishes. Sip aromatic Saigonese coffee and refreshing beers as you explore the appetizing attractions of Ho Chi Minh City. Enjoy an intimate atmosphere on this small-group tour, where numbers are limited to just 12 fellow food lovers.
  • Eat your way through Saigon (aka Ho Chi Minh City) the way locals do
  • Indulge in the dishes that have made Southern Vietnamese cuisine famous, like xa xui (Cantonese barbecued pork), chao muc (squid soup) and bo la lot (barbecued minced beef)
  • Mingle with locals over Saigonese coffee and street beer
  • Experience Saigon’s history and multiculturalism through its food
  • Explore hidden alleys and get off the beaten track to see Saigon in a way few tourists do
  • See Saigon as the sun goes down and reveals a vibrant (and delicious) night scene
Greet your guide and group of fellow food lovers at Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Museum.

Kick off your tour at some nearby street stalls where you can try local appetizers such as chao muc (a dry squid porridge) and xa xui (Cantonese barbecued pork).

Continue on to the corner of Nguyen Cong Tru and Calmette, and taste a unique street food called banh bo banh tieu.

Afterward, head to an area popular for its Saigonese coffee. See why the locals all are about this particular cup of joe before moving on to sample ha cao (Chinese-style dim-sum), bo bia (a Saigonese spring roll) and bo cuon mo chai (barbecued beef meatballs).

End your tour with a Vietnamese fried banana for dessert and a Saigon beer. Then, bid your guide and group farewell in this bustling location and choose to continue exploring or take a taxi back to your accommodation.

Let me start by saying that my husband and I LOVE food tours. The Ho Chi Minh City Street Food Tour was no exception. Our tour guide, Tan, led us into food stalls and restaurants that were clearly reserved for locals. We enjoyed duck, Vietnamese coffee, taro and eggs, BBQ, Saigon Beer and more over the course of this 2.5-hour tour. Yum! If you love food as much as we do, take this tour and make your stomach happy.

Excellent street food tour and an excellent tour guide in Tan! Tan was very knowledgeable and shared with us a lot of history lessons about Ho Chi Minh vs Saigon as well as local knowledge such as places to eat, the lifestyle of the people, and the nuances of everyday local life. The food you'll have on this tour won't be the generic ones such as pho or banh mi. As a result of that, we were truly impressed by the variation of the food as it was a good change of pace from several prior days of pho and banh mi. Please find below some notes:

Do be informed that it is a walking tour with a considerable amount of walking. We were fine with it and found it to be very helpful to us as it lessened the guilt from eating too much.

Do be informed that most of these street food vendors aren't in spotless clean dining areas but in the streets beside the road literally on the pavement where it may be perceived to be unhygienic and dirty. If you may have a problem with that then this is definitely not for you. We were fine with it as it gave us insight into the locals' way of life.

Do be prepared to be super full from eating a wide variety of food.

Do be prepared to gain valuable knowledge about Vietnam in many aspects.

Do be prepared to learn how to drink your coffee the Vietnamese way as opposed to the Starbucks way.

The night ended on a high note and our tour guide Tan was also kind enough to let us know to only use VinaSun taxis to find our way back to the hotel. Thanks a lot to Tan for making the whole experience a positive one for us.

Awesome! Awesome Tour! Good Food, Great Tour Guide, Great Group of People. It rained at the beginning, but the tour guide offered ponchos, which was great. Keep close to the tour guide, with a lot of motorbikes and traffic, you don't want to get run over. Highly Recommend!

Tãn was a fantastic guide and a wonderful storyteller. This was one of the best food tours I've taken.

We really enjoyed our street food tour with our knowledgeable guide Quinny. We went to places that we wouldn't have visited on our own and ordered food that we didn't even know existed! My wife and I and our two children 10 and 12 yrs had a great evening and can really recommend this tour.

This was a really excellent tour that showed us a side of Ho Chi Minh that we would never have seen without it. We got to eat authentic Vietnamese street food and our guide told us about all of it in detail. Hard to choose which was the best food, but probably the BBQ pork or the grilled bananas would take it for us. Really good fun highly recommended!

Fun walking tour with short stops to taste local foods. Good to do in the evening once it cools down outside. Tina, our tour guide was wonderful!
