After being picked up from your central Hoi An hotel, meet your guide and small group of no more than 12 people, and saddle up for a scenic cycle through the countryside. Leave the city behind and pedal your way into the heart of rural Vietnam, passing bamboo forests, rice paddies, and traditional farmlands, and stopping to snap photos of local harvesters, water buffalo, and herds of cows and goats.
Arrive at the Thanh Nam Fishing Village and get your first taste of typical Vietnamese life as you meet the local fishermen and watch as they haul their catch back to shore. Then, continue to the Tra Que Herb Garden Veggie Village, where you’ll be welcomed with refreshments and enjoy a tour of the community farm, made up of more than 200 households. Stroll around the vegetable gardens, learn more about the daily tasks of the farmers, and perhaps even get hands-on planting vegetables and digging up the herb beds with your hosts. After working hard in the fields, enjoy some time to relax and pamper yourself with a traditional foot massage.
Having worked up an appetite, it’s time to set to work preparing lunch and you’ll have the opportunity to partake in a cooking class in a local family kitchen. Learn the secrets of Vietnamese specialties such as ‘Tam Huu’ (spring rolls) and ‘Banh xeo’ (Vietnamese pancakes) as you whip up a feast of traditional cuisine, including up to seven different dishes.
After tucking into your home-made lunch, spend some time exploring the village or relaxing at your host’s home, before jumping back on your bike for the return journey to Hoi An.
