Overview

Visit ‘James Bond Island’ on a full-day speedboat trip to Khao Phing Kan from Krabi, with the option to add a kayak adventure. Enjoy time to hike, swim, and explore dramatic karst landscape, then stop at a floating stilt village for a buffet lunch. This 7-hour tour includes lunch, snacks, snorkeling equipment, national park fees, and hotel pickup and drop-off at selected hotels.
  • 7-hour Phang Nga Bay tour
  • Visit James Bond Island
  • Optional kayak tour of Thalu Island
  • Lunch in a floating village
  • Travel by speedboat to see more of the area
  • Hotel pickup and drop-off included
Start with 8am pickup at your hotel (see “Important Info” for details), then travel to the Ao Thalane Pier to board a speedboat across Phang Nga Bay. Catch views of sheer limestone cliffs over clear water on the trip to Khao Phing Kan, which appeared in the James Bond movie “The Man with the Golden Gun”, starring Roger Moore.

Upon arrival at Khao Phing Kan, you’ll have time to walk around the island and photograph the limestone towers that surround it. Continue to nearby Thalu Island to enjoy scenic views of the bay: if you’ve selected the optional kayak tour while booking, take a guided paddle along a mangrove river, beneath limestone cliffs, and into caves bristling with stalactites.

After your time at Thalu Island, visit the floating village of Panyee for a buffet lunch. Take time to explore the village, which is built entirely on stilts at the edge of a cliff, then return to the boat for the trip back to Ao Nang. This tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel.
Itinerary
Stop At:
Ao Tha Lane
Following a pick-up service from your hotel in Krabi, climb aboard the speed boat at Ao Thalane Pier and voyage over to the famous James Bond Island which is situated in the north of Phang Nga Bay. It found its way onto the tourist map through its starring role in the James Bond movie “The Man With the Golden Gun” starring Roger Moore as 007, and is distinctive for its sheer limestone cliffs that jut vertically out of the crystal emerald-green water. Discover the famous Khao Phing Kan, a very high leaning rock with tiny caves, where you can find stalls selling souvenirs mostly made from beautiful shells and wood. Walk around the James Bond Island and take a photo of Koh Tapu (also known as Nail Island or Spike Island). The limestone rock is around 20 meters tall with a diameter ranging from about 4 meters at the bottom and up to 8 meters at the top (hence the name of nail island). Continue to Thalu Island, where you can take a guided kayak tour along the mangrove river and the giant stalactites caves & limestone cliffs (please book the kayak option). If canoeing isn’t your thing you can just enjoy the sights that James Bond Island and its surroundings has to offer! Panyee floating village is where you will stop for lunch. The natural island of Panyee is a towering vertical mass of limestone. Nearly all of the village sits atop a huge network of stilts that clings to the edge of the island’s coastline and stretches out over the sea in a maze of raised platforms and walkways. Cruise back to Ao Nang whilst enjoying a marvellous view to Hong Island and make a great conclusion to an unforgettable day. Itinerary: • 07:45 - 08:30: Hotel pickup in Krabi • 08:30 - 09:00: Meet the crew at Ao Thalane Pier • 09:00 - 09:45: Cruise by speed boat to James Bond Island • 09:45 - 11:15: Sightseeing & photography at James Bond Island & Khao Phing Kan • 11:15 - 11:30: Continue to Thalu Island • 11:30 - 12:00: Guided kayaking into Lot Noi Cave (only if kayak option has been booked) • 12:00 - 13:00: Have lunch on Panyee Island • 13:00 - 14:15: Sightseeing & shopping on Koh Panyee • 14:15 - 15:00: Head back to Krabi • 15:00 - 15:30: Enjoy a marvellous view to Hong Island • 15:30 - 16:00: Transfer to the hotel

I was very disappointed with this...

I was very disappointed with this tour. The staff, Imran and his driver were very attentive helping travellers on and off the boat. James Bond Island very touristy. Lunch at Floating Village delicious and plentiful. Kayaking option a waste of time. Tours description says while booking, take a guided paddle along a mangrove river, beneath limestone cliffs, and into caves bristling with stalactites. Our kayaking existed of a paddle through an arch but no caves, paddled to a small beach for a photo and then back to start. No caves, no mangrove river and the paddler was bold enough to ask for a tip. Don't waste your money on kayaking. Last stop Hong Island - water very cloudy so not good for snorkelling but we had beach all to ourselves. Overall very disappointing.

Very efficient. Several people on hand to make sure you get on the correct bus to the ferry. The ferry was on time and the ride to koh phangan was fairly fast with one quick stop to drop passengers at koh samui.

This was an amazing tour with lots to see and friendly staff. Be prepared if you get sea sick because the waters can get choppy. It's also cheaper to book through your hostel.

Seemed like a scam

Railay Beach to Koh Lanta by Ao Nang Princess Ferry | Mar 2020
We waited for an hour in the designated location. We eventually walked up the beach and started asking around and were told that we were supposed to meet somewhere else and the ferry had left without us. Coincidentally there was someone there offering to take us by boat and taxi for over twice as much as we paid for this ferry. Seemed like it was all set up. Then viator refused to give me a refund for a trip I never took.

Riverside Thai Cooking Class in Khao Lak with Market Tour | Mar 2020
The teacher, Apple, was an excellent tutor and just so friendly and sweet. We thoroughly enjoyed learning, cooking and of course eating all 7 dishes our group of 6 made. The small class size was also excellent, allowing us to ask questions and get a bit of extra help if needed - a must do for foodies travelling to Khao Lak!

This tour was very good, however we where a bit unlucky with the weather, as it was overcast and rainy. It didn't affect the tour though as the water was still fine, the beaches where great and lunch was al fresco on a lovely beach! Well worth recommending!
