Your tour begins with a 9:00 a.m. pickup from your Kunming hotel by private vehicle. Accompanied by your private guide, set out on the around 50-minute journey to Yuantong Temple, located at the foot of Luofeng Hill.

Hop out to visit the Yuantong complex, the largest Buddhist temple in Yunnan province, built during the Tang Dynasty, over 1,200 years ago. Listen as your guide points out architectural elements such as the covered corridors, arched bridges, and 15th-century additions, and take some striking photos of the temple’s beautiful pools and tiered pagodas.

Continue into the Western Hills, soaking up the scenery on the around 45-minute journey to the second stop of the day – the Dragon Gate temple. On arrival, climb up the hillside to explore the dramatically situated temple, which includes a series of grottos, sculptures, and pavilions carved into the cliff-side. At the top, enjoy spectacular views over Dianchi Lake and Kunming City.

On return to Kunming, your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel around 1:00 p.m.
