The drivers / guides were very personable and knowledgeable about the Yorkshire area and the Lake District. It was a lot of driving for a day - but worth it. Loved the visit to Hilltop. Too bad the house is closed on Fridays
Excellent Tour, my wife and I really enjoyed it, we departed York exactly on time, and spent the morning driving cross country and visiting a small Abbey and town on the way to Windermere. There we went to several spots including Beatrix Potter House, We enjoyed it a lot and the tour ended with a breathtaking trip o a boat on Windermere lake. From York we were only 5 passengers, and it felt very private and personal.
This tour was very interesting and informative as was the Yorksire Highlands tour that I took the following day. The guides / drivers are helpful and enthusiastic. A great way to see the area. I have not gone on a Viator tour, even though with many different local companies, that I did not enjoy and appreciate.
This was an excellent tour in a small minibus with tour guide Lee. He gave us plenty of commentary along the way and plenty of stops at small villages. The cruise on Lake Windermere was great and there was time for afternoon tea at Bowness afterwards before the bus trip back to York. A great way to see the Lakes but we will need to return one day to do some of the lovely walks.
