Choose a morning or afternoon class, then meet your market guide at a central-location in Jemaa el-Fnaa, the colorful market at the heart of the Marrakech old town. Start the cooking class by purchasing the raw ingredients for your meal (ingredients own expense), visiting a series of market stalls to select the freshest, most flavorful vegetables, fruits, and spices.
After gathering your ingredient list, continue to a rooftop kitchen in the heart of the medina, where you’ll have panoramic views of the old city as you cook. Depending on the dishes you choose, the menu can include classic tagines, couscous, tangia, or some of Morocco’s many fresh salads. You’ll also have a chance to visit a communal bread oven to make hobz, a traditional bread baked in aromatic rounds.
When the meal is ready, sit down to enjoy the food you’ve prepared: bring an appetite, as the class includes full lunch or dinner with generous portions. This half-day cooking class concludes in the Marrakech medina.
