Hello,
We are very desappointed with this tour. It was supposed to be a day tour to Quebec and we just spend a couple of hours there, wasting time in a boring trip to a supposedly private canyon plus the Montmorency electric plant and then a buffet in an awful commercial center on the way back. The driver was kind but his english hardly understandable and he was not prepared to provide historical facts.
On the road, he spent most of his time speaking in chinese with a client from Hong Kong.
We discovered that the agency you workwith is located close to the chinese village and attends mainly chinese customers.....
Of course, we will mention this on trip advisor
What a pity !!!!

I have been on other day trips before, but this is a my first review on viator. I am writing this review because i want update the rating for this trip which was awesome. The tour in charge was Compass Holidays and they organized a really great day. I will caution that the day trip I took was different from the one described but I couldn't have asked for an more fun day. Instead of the falls our guide Thomas took us to hotel de glace, one day before it was melted for the season, an amazing lunch at buffet de continents, see TripAdvisor for review, the observation tower and then downtown where we had free time exploring the sites including Château Frontenac
My only comment is that the price i paid turned out to be for the bus only I was told after I booked the trip that the activities needed to paid on the day as you can tell from my review it turned out fine but setting the price with everything included should be considered

Trip started out in a mini-van which was cramped and uncomfortable. Couldn't hear or understand any of the guides as they were all of Asian decent and had thick accents. The guides were also the drivers so they spent much of the trip talking to the windshield as they were driving.

The tour turned into a taxi service from Montreal to Quebec City.

1st stop was unavailable but didn't find out until we arrived. Guide did refund the price of admission in Canadian dollars. I paid in American so I took the hit on the currency conversion.

Van broke down but a replacement van did not show up until after 6 PM roughly an hour after the time we were supposed to leave.

The tour company tried to rectify the situation by stealing a driver from another tour to continue our tour, but I think he felt pressured to return to his tour so drove at high speeds and erratically to the point he was a danger to the group.

We went to the 2 falls but were rushed so didn't get to experience the 2nd falls as the guide gave us minutes to take pictures.

At 3:00 in the afternoon, we were notified we would have to extend our return trip as they needed to send another car and driver up from Montreal. The van was known to be broken about 10:30AM.

By the time we went through our third guide and third vehicle who was by far the worst driver we thought we had enough but then the 3rd driver let loose with a bout of flatulence that made your eyes water.

This trip was so awful, I couldn't even feel embarrassed for the company. 1st time out of a dozen trips where I was actually disappointed with a Viator tour.

You would be better off to take the train from Montreal to Quebec City, pay for a walking or horse drawn carriage tour and take the train back. you would miss 2 different waterfalls and a trip to building overseeing Quebec, but you would be much safer than having these people drive you and you would have some tour guides that you could hear and understand.
