After meeting your guide outside your central Nice hotel for a convenient pickup, travel along the famed coastal road of the French Riviera. Admire the scenery as you make your way to Cannes, known for its famous film festival and sandy beaches. Walk along Croisette Boulevard, window shopping on your way to the Film Festival Palace. There, see how many celebrity hand prints you can find. Next, head for the city of Grasse, the world capital of the perfume industry. Go on a guided tour of a perfumery to learn the complex art and science behind each scent, and enjoy some free time to explore Grasse on your own. Continue up into the hills, taking in the increasingly dramatic views of mountains, valleys and the Mediterranean Sea far below. Arrive at Gourdon, a Medieval hilltop village, where you’ll take a break for lunch (own expense) before continuing to Loup Gorges. There, you’ll visit the famous Florian confectionery and taste some of the traditional flower-scented candy. Pause for a brief photo-op at Tourettes/Loup before making your way to the final stop of the day — Saint Paul de Vence, the second-most visited village in the country. The charming historic lanes are lined with art galleries and pretty boutiques just begging you to browse. Enjoy some free time in Saint Paul de Vence before climbing back into the vehicle for the return trip to Nice.
Good trip to see a glimpse of each town. I was really looking forward to seeing the real lavender fields instead we saw a patch of it. But our tour guide was very pleasant and flexible. Great way to see a little bit of the top landmarks of the south country of France :)
This trip is fantastic!! Camille, our guide, was very knowledgeable and friendly. We started out in Grasse and toured the Fragonard factory then drove up the foothills of the French Alps stopping at the very quaint medieval village of Gourdon for lunch. After walking through the village we headed to Saint-Paul de Vence, another medieval village which was filled with lots of narrow, hilly streets and beautiful artisan shops. After we were dropped off at our hotel we ate at the restaurant recommended by Camille, La Maison de Marie on Place de Messena. The food was excellent! I would highly recommend this trip!
We had a perfect day in lovely Provence. Our guide, Ralph was also a really good driver and was very friendly, polite, informative. Thank you for visiting these nice villages, it was a great adventure.
We were lucky enough to have Alexander as our driver and tour guide. Alex was a lifelong resident of Nice and the local area and knew all about it. He was only interested in making our tour experience incredible and catered to our every need. The tour was incredible and all the stops were well worth it. Highly recommend the tour and, if you can, ask for Alex!!
Amazing scenery from small towns on top of the mountains, the ride up and down from the hill tops were bumpy and can be tricky for people who suffer from motion sickness. The guide was courteous, professional and very informative.
Would recommend this tour to family and friends if visiting countryside and small towns is your thing!
