A great experience. Full English guide who was very informative, we learnt so much. Hierve agua was beautiful, quite a hike, lots of stairs if you do the full hike but it's optional. Pools were beautiful and so refreshing after the hike. Mitla, mezcal abd textile tours were excellent. Very worthwhile, definitely recommend.

This was such a fun and history rich experience! The tour guide was knowledgeable and made it an enjoyable time! Kudos to the driver who got us through the streets during dia de muertos like a pro!! Highly recommend if you come out here!

Beautiful Experience but Not in English
    Monica_P, Oct 2025
We received a text from the company before the tour letting us know that the English tour was not available and asking if we spoke Spanish. Although we understand some Spanish, my husband does not, so we decided to go ahead anyway, the tour was part of the reason we decided to visit Oaxaca. The tour itself was beautiful, but not very informative for us since much of the explanation was in Spanish and we couldn’t follow everything that was being said. That being said, the overall experience was wonderful. We got to see the petrified waterfalls and mineral ponds — both absolutely stunning. We also visited a textile factory and enjoyed a Mezcal tasting, which were great experiences. One thing to note is that this tour is very long, lasting about 8–9 hours depending on the group and how timely everyone is. Be prepared for a full day. If you plan to swim in the mineral ponds, definitely bring your swimsuit. The mineral-rich water feels a bit grainy on your skin, but it’s part of the experience. The showers aren’t the best, but they do the job. Overall, despite the language barrier, it was a beautiful and memorable day.
    Great day!

    Awsome day trip
    Katerina_S, Jul 2025
We travelled with kids (5 and 11) and they loved the free time in the water. We quickly walked the trail down and back and enjoyed more than an 1.25 hour in the water. We were lucky for blue sky and hot day. Even the rest of the trip was perfect. Actually, in the morning we first stopped in a local bakery to taste bread and grab a coffee, then to Tule and then to waterfalls, which was cool as we were there nearly alone, before masses. Then we headed to Mitla and only then to lunch (3PM) it was rather late so it is good to have snacks or be ready to buy some (there are some quick oportunities). Lunch was pleasan and plentiful. We all picked something, even the small kiddo as plain pasta and plan chickem meat was on the buffee. After 4PM, we headed to Mezcal tasting. Best I ever experienced. Really kind people and many flavours we tried. Our final stop was a textile/wool production workshop. Nice place, fun guy. No one forced us to buy anything. So we were not under pressure as on other similar tours (but we still got a small beautiful tabel cloth :-)). Awerall, my kids said it was the best experience ever. For us adults, it was hustle free, all on time as as we imagined
    Regional Wonders of Oaxaca
    Francisco_S, May 2025
Be prepared for a long day tour. However, I think you will be rewarded in the end. The tree is impressive, the mountain scenery is beautiful, Hierve el agua is breathtaking and unique. Yes the water is cold but go for it. A once in a lifetime experience. Although nowhere near as spectacular as Monte Alban, the archaeological site at Mitla beautiful and intriguing. The Palenque de mezcal was fascinating and will make you a feel good! The artisanal wool presentation and store was interesting and beautifully crafted.
You must take this tour, adventure and fun
    Rocio_R, Mar 2025
This is a full day tour, close to 11 hours. It is packed with adventure and fun times. Every stop was interesting. We truly enjoyed the waterfalls hike and extra time to take a break afterwards and enjoy a drink. The city of Tule was stunning and visiting the old and huge tree was worthwhile. The ruins at Mitla were impressive. The only item of the entire day I would recommend Viator find a better partner was the lunch stop. The buffet was weak and pretty bare by the time we arrived 2:45pm. The textile stop was impressive, we learned so much and purchased a small rug to take home. Our tour guide and driver Xenon, was the best!!!!
    Excellent tour guides!...

Excellent tour guides! Buffet lunch was excellent. Very tasty. The Mezcal tasting was very generous!

Wonderful day in the countryside of Oaxaca!
    Stuart_C, Feb 2025
It was a long day, but a wonderful experience. We got to see the beautiful countryside of the Oaxaca area, hike at the Hierve del Agua for a couple of hours, visiting Mitla historical site, and see the local culture (weaving and Mezcal). Zenon, our guide, was awesome and provided so much interesting information about the ancient cultures and current village life. Super informative and just an all around great day.

Lunch isn’t until around 2 30 so bring snacks. It was a full day with many things to see. Hierve is amazing.
    12/10 this experience was amazing!
    Annette_C, Jan 2025
We had an absolutely wonderful time. Our guide was very kind and knowledgeable. Our trip was very smooth and we learned so much. There were opportunities for food and drinks along the way but I would recommend bringing water and snacks because we had what could be considered a later lunch (~2:30-3 pm).
    Great, adventure packed...

Great, adventure packed day! I was the only non-Spanish speaker on the trip (I know 🙄), and Xenon went out of his way to make sure I still got the most out of everything. Highly recommend!!
    Hierves Agua tour
    Manuel_M, Dec 2024
Our guide was very knowledgeable on all the spots we visited, it was very thought out itinerary. We had enough time to have a guide show up hierves agua and check out the water holes. The hike was intense but worth the view. I recommend this tour if you want to experience a good time in Oaxaca.
Too rushed and too many activities for one day
    Nick_I, Dec 2024
While the locations in the itinerary were all great, it was a lot for one day. I wish we’d gone to Hierve el Agua on our own. We only had enough time to hike down to the bottom of one of the falls but not both. And no time to get in the water. I guess if we got in the water then no time to hike down! Mitla was also rushed. We were in and out. Also, we didn’t get lunch until 3 pm. Some of the elderly folk in our group were starving and needed food a lot sooner than 3 pm. Overall you do get to see a lot but it’s too much for one day. I think the Tule tree, Mitla, and Hierve el Agua would be enough for one day. Scrap the mezcal tasting and the textile demo and let people spend more time in the other 3 places. Or just go on your own and take your time.
Good mix of outdoor, historical and cultural activities.
    Andrew_R, Dec 2024
Swimming at Hierve el Agua and visit to Mitla were highlights. Guide Xenon was wonderful-low key, sincere and not phony. I am grateful that he shared his indigenous heritage and knowledge with us.
    Immersed in Zapotec Culture
    Ingrid_P, Nov 2024
This was a well-planned and managed full day tour. The explanations in English and the centering of Zapotec culture throughout was what set it apart. I felt like I left with a better understanding of these sites and their cultural importance, I learned a great deal especially at Teotitlán. The guide’s explanation of the textiles was better than we had at even the Museo Textil de Oaxaca.
    Exceeded my expectations
    Marika_S, Nov 2024
This tour exceeded my expectations. I knew there were lots of things to see but it didn’t feel rushed. I would have spent less time at the buffet and a little bit more learning about the weaving process (pigment, etc). Our guide Zenon was very knowledgeable and nice, kudos to him for conducting the tour in 2 languages and thanks to our driver Omero too, I don’t speak Spanish but I understand a bit and he was super funny. I really enjoyed it, especially the visit at hierve el agua and the mezcal tasting.
    Spectacular Hierve el Agua Tour
    Odessa_D, Nov 2024
The Hierve el Agua tour was amazing, with breathtaking views and a memorable experience. However, there are a few things to keep in mind. Lunch is late—around 3 PM—so definitely make sure to bring plenty of water and some snacks to keep you going, as none are provided on the tour. We were given the option to skip the hike and head straight to the pools for photos, which turned out spectacular. The tour also included a unique workshop about natural dyes, which was unlike anything we’ve experienced before and surprisingly engaging. Our guide was informative and kept us entertained throughout the long drive. Overall, it was an amazing tour, but be prepared for a full day and pack accordingly!
    A must for every visitor

Very friendly guide, who created a fun environment where the entire group came together to share the experience. It was a beautiful trip! Highly recommended.
