Depart Oxford by comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle and journey to Leavesden in Hertfordshire, the location of the Warner Bros. Studios where all eight of the much-loved Harry Potter films were produced.
After roughly an hour on the road, arrive at the studios and enjoy three to four hours to tour the studios, home to a fascinating collection of sets, backlots, props and special effect departments that injected the magic into the much-loved, iconic movies.
Come face to face with the gleaming red Hogwarts Express train that transports Harry and his friends to school and walk inside echoing Hogwarts Great Hall, Dumbledore’s Office and other sets where many of the movies’ magical moments took place.
Discover the secrets behind mind-boggling visual tricks in the special effects and arts departments, and explore the costume and props facilities. Plus, visit the creature effects storeroom to see some of the 200 masks and models of the beasts that starred in the stories, including the scary, 18-foot (5.4-meter) animatronic spider Aragog.
After your tour, visit the Studio Shop and if you wish, snap up some Harry Potter-themed wares (own expense) such as replica wands, props and costumes as souvenirs of your day.
Lastly, relax on your ride back to Oxford, where your experience ends with a drop-off at the original start point.
