THE MEETING POINT IS NOT LOCATED AT THE LOUVRE ENTRANCE! Meet near the Arc du Carrousel, on the left side of it, with the Louvre to your back. This is a monumental arch with a horse-drawn chariot on top, situated across the road from the courtyard of the Louvre. There is a big blue banner!

The tour ends in the lobby of the Louvre, just under the Pyramid

What To Expect

Your journey through some of the world’s great artistic treasures begins at the Arc du Carrousel, next to the Louvre entrance. Choose a morning, afternoon, or evening tour and meet your English-speaking guide. Enjoy fast access to the museum with your skip-the-line pass and begin your tour through the massive venue, home to over 35,000 works of art spanning more than 73,000 square meters of exhibition space. Your entrance pass also provides complimentary audio headsets.

Wander the diverse exhibitions, starting with the Ancient Greek Parthenon, followed by the iconic 'Venus de Milo.' While in the ancient antiquities gallery, view the celebrated 'Winged Victory of Samothrace.' Then head to the Apollo Gallery to see the opulent royal crowns of Napoleon and King Louis XV. Get a taste of the French Revolution with Delacroix’s painting 'Liberty Leading the People,' and take in the Italian Renaissance as you gaze at the work of Michelangelo and Da Vinci's 'Mona Lisa.' (See full sample list below.)

With your small group (limited to 25 people), engage in lively chats with your guide and hear entertaining anecdotes, trivia, and history. Or if you've chosen the private tour, enjoy unlimited access to your guide's wealth of knowledge. Afterward, spend as much time as you like exploring the museum independently.

Please Note: Evening tours are limited to Wednesdays and Fridays at 6:30pm. For an extra unique experience, book an evening session and wind through the quiet corridors at night, when the crowds are gone and the artwork is basked in soft light. Enjoy the tour without all the bustle, and finish with great views of the Louvre’s glittery outside pyramid lit up after dusk.

Jardin des Tuileries (Pass By)

On your arrival at the meeting point, you can admire the Jardin des Tuileries which is located right by the Arc des Triomphe du Carroussel where you will meet your guide.

Traveler Tips

Be aware that you will be going up and down many stairs so wear comfortable shoes for walking and standing.
The museum is huge and can be overwhelming so it is very helpful to have a guide to show you the highlights.
Skip the line is the way to go because the crowds are massive at the Louvre.

A true French experience
Dan_L, Feb 2023
The guide/facilitator, Albert (*spelling) was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, polite, incredibly competent and an expert in art. He is a historian and art guru instead of your typical host. His passion made the experience. Thank you
Missed tour
Daniel_R, Feb 2023
We missed the tour as we were stuck in traffic. The taxi ride was 50 minutes and we had planned a 30 minutes ride for a estimated 20 minute ride.
So great!!! Loved our guide, Abrahaim!!
Chris_M, Feb 2023
What a handsome, charming & interesting guide Abrahaim was! So glad we took his tour! He gave us lots of history & interesting facts we would have missed on our own. Would highly recommend! So much detail about paint methods & sculpture & different types of reproductions … so interesting! Thanx Abrahaim!!!

Great Guide Anna
Leanna_T, Jan 2023
Our guide, Anna, was very knowledgeable and she made sure we had a front and center experience. She encouraged us to participate and made sure we had the opportunity to get up close to all of the point of interest. (She was not afraid to get to the front. Polite yet firm)!
History brought to life
JPaul_C, Jan 2023
Sponsor was great! Brought history to life. It was a great tour and helped improve my own understanding of history.
The only to do the Louvre!!!
susan_e, Jan 2023
Easy rendezvous spot to meet guide, super easy to access museum with no line. Very informative and interesting guide. Maxim, our guide was full of insights and pointed out some very unusual things in the museum in regards to art and history. I would not want to do the Louvre without some guidance, otherwise you’d be just stumbling around.

roman statues story
berislav_j, Jan 2023
The part related to roman statues and the part related to Leonardo da Vinci pictures beside Mona Lisa. We have also liked the jewelry details and portraits of known public figures including architects. The guide was excellent, motivated and ready to assist in every way. Really nice experience.
Review of Louvre with tour guide
Maria_A, Jan 2023
We visited the Louvre which included a tour guide. It was worth every penny! I think the tour guide’s name was Martha. She made the tour interesting and she was very knowledgeable. The Louvre is a humongous place so we only saw a little bit of it, but we would have been lost on our own. I loved the audio so we could hear every word of the tour guide. We really enjoyed ourselves. There are so many wonderful things to see at the Louvre!

Our guide, Claire, was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and brought some of the pieces to life in ways I hadn’t thought of during previous visits to the Louvre.

Strike prevented arriving on time. Had to pay separately for tickets, no guide. Unable to enjoy the museum experience.

Poor customer service.
Eli_R, Jan 2023
My flight was delayed so I was unable to go on the tour. Viator said they had no ability to change the time of the tour as it was only up to the local operator. My suggestion would be to book with the local operator directly.
Response from Host, Jan 2023

Best tour ever
Brynn_C, Jan 2023
Our tour guide was amazing. Not only did she make sure that we could take pictures but she gave us history of each piece she took us too as well as showed us her favorite piece which is now my favorite piece. When I come back to Paris, I would do this tour again with Flores.
Adeola guided an amazing tour of the Louvre
Kristi_M, Jan 2023
Our tour guide Adeola "Addie" was AMAZING and was able to customize our experience because we were the only people who showed up for our group tour. Luckily, there were very few people crowding the musuem and we moved with ease throughout all areas of the musuem. Addiction shared amazing history and perspective throughout the tour. We feel we received loads of information that only can be found through having a personal guide. Additionally, this service included storing our winter coats/ scarves in a secured locker prior to the tour as an added bonus!
The Louvre with Laurent
Jennifer_F, Jan 2023
Our tour guide, Laurent, was so knowledgeable and really did a great job of teaching us about the things that makes the Louvre unique. He made this tour exceed my expectations!
