Meet up with your guide and tour group at a centrally located point in Puerto Madryn. Board a comfortable tour vehicle and begin your journey to El Pedral, located roughly 46 miles (75km) away in the Patagonian steppe.
Once you arrive in Golfo Nuevo, you'll see the Punta Ninfas Lighthouse, surrounded by colonies of elephant seals and sea lions. Continue to the Estancia El Pedral, a historic ranch that is now a hotel and a museum. Tour the estancia and learn about its history and the story of the early settlers of this wild region.
At the Punta Ninfas Penguin Reserve, you'll get the chance to walk through the penguin colonies and nesting areas. Listen to your guide's commentary about the biology and behavior of these South American birds.
Return to the estancia for a barbecue lunch of lamb, salad, dessert, wine, and coffee or tea. You can spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing and making use of the property's amenities, including game rooms and a swimming pool.
Depart the estancia for the trip back to Puerto Madryn around 5pm. You'll be dropped off at your original departure location.
