We had a great trip into the Amazon rainforest and around Lake Sandoval. Our guide was Jay who was excellent. His English was perfect. He had a great eye to spot birds and animals and knew so much information about the trees on the walk. We saw an elusive great otter.
We were really lucky just before we finished as there was a huge scream from the trees above. We had no idea what it was. Jay pointed out a troop of red Howler monkeys in the trees above us. The alpha male was howling to ward off another male who was invading his territory.
Lovely view of the lake from the lunch spot. Safety is taken very seriously, we were given life jackets in the longboat up the Madre de Dios and in the canoe around the lake. Lastly, Charlie picked us up right on time in the mini bus at the start and end of the day. Definitely recommended
