Overview

Visit the idyllic shores of Saona Island aboard speedboat during this 8-hour from Punta Cana. Head first for La Romana Beach in Bayahibe, then on the way to Saona Island, stop at a sandbar to view dozens of starfish. Eat a buffet lunch on the tropical shores of Saona Island and spend some time exploring the beach and waters. On the way back, lounge on the decks of a spacious catamaran with a drink from the open bar or participate in salsa and merengue lessons. Round trip transportation from Punta Cana hotels is provided.
  • 8-hour day trip to Saona Island
  • Activities include snorkeling, dancing and stops for souvenirs
  • Buffet lunch on the island
  • Stop at a natural pool to see the abundant starfish
  • Return trip on board a catamaran, including open bar
  • Round-trip transportation from Punta Cana hotels
Following hotel or port pickup, board a comfortable, air-conditioned bus and travel to La Romana Beach in Bayahibe. On the way, stop at a gift shop to purchase souvenirs if you wish. Once you arrive in Bayahibe, a local photographer will snap your photo, which you can choose to have superimposed on a bottle of the island's aphrodisiac liquor, mamajuana.
Board your boat and watch the coastline of the Dominican Republic slide away as you head out to sea, bound for the idyllic Saona Island. On the way, stop to snorkel among schools of tropical fish on a coral reef for about 25 minutes and stop at a natural swimming pool to see an array of starfish and take advantage of the swim-up bar.
When you reach Saona Island, explore on your own. Walk the sandy shores, swim in the shallow water or lounge under the coconut palms. Dig in to a provided buffet lunch when you get hungry.
Board a catamaran for the return trip to the Dominican mainland. Listen to Batchata, merengue and reggaeton music, sip drinks from the open bar and even take a merengue lesson.
At the conclusion of your day trip, head back to shore and enjoy drop-off back at your accommodations.

Good day at the beach but journey home by catamaran takes a long time. Bus was 50 minutes late in picking us up which was annoying as we had to be up and ready for departure at 6.45am! Only other criticism is that the telephone number on the booking voucher was not valid so we could not contact the company. Website number did not work either.
