Meet a driver between 6:15am and 7:30am at your hotel in Playa del Carmen, then begin the 40-mile (65-km) trip to Tulum, with a light breakfast to enjoy along the way. Upon arrival at Tulum archeological site, explore the temples, pyramids, and ancient frescoes with the guide, and learn about the daily lives and beliefs of the ancient Maya.
Following your tour of Tulum, continue to Coba, a sprawling city that was once home to 50,000 people. Still covered in thick vines and foliage, Coba is a dramatic contrast to Tulum, and you can climb to the top of Nohoch Mul, the tallest pyramid on the Yucatan Peninsula. The tour includes a ride on a “tricycle taxi” to the main pyramid, or you can opt to pedal a bike along the flat paths from the Coba entrance.
Pause for lunch by the Coba Lagoon, dining on local cuisine and handmade tortillas, then head to Tulum beach for an afternoon of sun, sand, and snorkeling. You’ll travel by boat to two different snorkel spots, perfect for swimming alongside schools of bright fish, colorful corals, and other marine wildlife.
This full-day tour concludes with return transfer to Playa del Carmen, and drop-off at your hotel.
