Your tour begins with hotel pickup by private vehicle in San Jose for the 1-hour scenic drive to La Paz Waterfall Gardens, passing by villages and stopping along the way to see coffee plantations, flowers, mountain views, and more.
When you arrive at La Paz, set off on a nature walk with a naturalist guide, who tells you about the most important aspects of the nature reserve. Attractions at the gardens include waterfalls, cloud forest and rainforest, hiking trails, an aviary with numerous species of birds, toucan feeding, insect exhibit, butterfly observatory, capuchin (white-faced) monkeys, black-handed spider monkeys, hummingbird garden, serpentarium (snake exhibit), jaguars, pumas, ocelots, margays, a tica house with a petting zoo and ox cart, ranarium (frog exhibit), orchid exhibit, and heliconia exhibit.
Walk at a leisurely pace so you can catch all the sights and ask your guide any questions about the local vegetation and wildlife. You'll arrive at the rainforest and waterfalls, where a shuttle bus waits to take you back to the main building for a buffet lunch.
Your tour ends with return to San Jose for hotel drop-off.
