Meet your guide at your San Juan hotel and soak up the scenery as you leave the city behind and make for the wild landscapes of North-western Puerto Rico. After around a two hour journey, lace up your hiking boots and set out on a challenging 3-mile (5km) hike.
Follow a thrilling route of jungle trails, muddy tracks and steep mountain passes, into the heart of the Puerto Rican rainforest. Along the way, listen as your guide points out unique plants and flowers that bloom in the subtropical climate, and keep a look out for native wildlife, like the elusive Puerto Rican boa. Then, venture underground to explore a series of natural caves and come face to face with bats as you scramble through the rocky underground passageways.
Finish your hike at the coast and enjoy free time to swim or relax on the sandy beach. Finally, tuck into a delicious Puerto Rican-style lunch (own expense) looking out over the ocean, before journeying back to San Juan.
Please note: Hiking shoes are recommended for this tour; flip-flops or sandals are not suitable.
