Start your morning with a pickup from your San Juan hotel, continuing by air-conditioned minivan up into the mountains of Puerto Rico’s interior. During the course of your 2-hour drive, you’ll admire the postcard-worthy countryside and the scenic grandeur of the Central Mountains, eventually reaching the town of San Sebastian.
Then lace up your shoes for a nice-and-easy 1-mile (1.6-kilometer) hike into the forest along a trail. Remember, your shoes might get wet, so make sure to plan accordingly. Before you know it, you’ll arrive at a scenic swimming hole popular with area locals. Kick back and relax alongside the pool’s cooling waters, jump in for a swim or take a plunge off the hanging rope if you’re feeling adventurous. A number of nearby waterfalls offer additional opportunities for exploring.
After finishing your invigorating nature walk, return back to the minivan for a trip to the local marketplace, where you’ll have a chance to grab some included food and drink. Feeling suitably relaxed and full, you’ll head back to San Juan for a drop-off at your hotel.
