Maybe I had higher expectations, but for the price, I guess I shouldn't have expected too much. Basically, a waiter brings 4 shots of different moonshine for you to taste. That's it. The moonshine did taste good and the waiter was nice. But not much to really elaborate on.

I booked this tour in September 2016 as a way to kick off my birthday in Puerto Rico and it certainly did not disappoint, although I'm quite sure the way our tour went was NOT how future tours will go. Read on for why: We arrived with our vouchers and the person at the register wasn't aware what it was, so he called the manager. The manager informed him in Spanish what the voucher was for, and what he needed to do. The person at the register then informed us that we were the very first people to EVER book the tasting. He allowed us to sit at table and proceeded to bring over 4-5 different types of moonshines and explained what each of them were. He then gave us shot glasses to taste each one, and here's the strange but yet the best part....he walked away, leaving the moonshine on our table. We didn't know what to do or whether he was coming back, but once we realized he wasn't, we continued pour our own tastings. No one said anything. Eventually we bought some of the food which was DELICIOUS, by the way-- he brought the food over and still left the moonshine on the After several shots of each moonshine, it's needless to say that we'd had our we paid our bill and tipped him well, the manager came over to sign off on the voucher, they thanked us for our visit, and we left. That was our tasting experience. Now although others may have a different experience, I will say that it was nice to try some of the popular moonshines on the island. You can't purchase at the restaurant, but you can do so at the liquor store or in customs. Overall, it was worth the small price to try something different, venture to a different part of the area, and get great food while at it!

The waitress gave us the history of the moonshine making process and let us try each shot at our own pace but you can't buy the moonshine from their location. You have to go to a local store to purchase it. For tourists, it makes easier if the moonshine was available for purchase at the tasting.

I booked this tour for my group of 6 while we were on board Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas for Christmas and NYE. We had no idea what to expect or what we were getting into and we could not have been happier with the result! We scheduled a 6PM tasting but were running late. I was able to call the number given as my point of contact who assured me that we could come in at any time and they would accommodate us. We took a taxi out of the main port area, with traffic, it took about 20-25 minutes. We found Prros Locos to be a little hole in the wall gem! The establishment itself is very clean and well-kept. The menu was easy to read and the employees were unbelievably courteous. When we arrived we let them know we were there for the moonshine tasting and we shocked when the owner, a rum guru who travels the world educating people on rum at international rum festivals, presided over our tasting. He set up a private table and chairs in their back room for us, which they also use for ceramic painting classes and other artistic activities. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We learned all about moonshine and were given more than our far share of tastes. After the tasting, we stayed for dinner and although I had the nachos, which were delicious, everyone else had their specialty - hot dogs! Any hot dog you can dream of, they had. The service was impeccable. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you and practically wait on you hand and foot. Before the words requesting a napkin could leave my lips, someone was there with a handful. The next time we find ourselves in San Juan, we will be going back to Prros Locos! A thousand thumbs up!
