Start the day with pickup at 8am or 1pm, then head into San Salvador’s old city for a tour of the main sights. Visit a vibrant handicraft market that’s the perfect place to shop for bright textiles, hammocks, and other locally-made crafts, and learn about the history of the city as you follow a route to San Salvador’s key landmarks.
See the National Theater, the oldest theater in Central America, and take in the Metropolitan Cathedral, the seat of San Salvador’s archdiocese. Continue to the Archbishop Romero and Rosario Church, then visit the grand National Palace, once the home of the El Salvador government.
After your time in the old city, head to the San Salvador volcano that looms on the skyline, and get sweeping views from the edge of the crater—look down into the crater, and you’ll see green crops cultivated by the people who live on the flanks of the geologically-active volcano. This 4.5-hour tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel or cruise ship.
