Receive a morning pickup from your Santiago hotel or private residence. From here you’ll travel east of the city and up into the mountains, heading toward the scenic Cajón del Maipo valley. Your guide will select the final trekking location based on the current weather and and snow conditions to ensure a safe day. After stopping for supplies at a small market en route, you’ll reach your snowshoe hike starting point. Before setting off your mountaineering-equipped guide will explain the proper technique to minimize any unnecessary exertion, and you’ll also be outfitted with trekking poles, gloves, and gaiters. Spend the next 2.5 hours climbing into the nearby mountains as you proceed to the Aguas Panimavida. This location offers stunning views of nearby snow-capped peaks along with the 15,246-foot (4,467-meter) tall “El Morado” rising in the distance. High Alpine Tour of Andes

My girlfriend and I went on a guided tour by Ben and Tomas up the Cajon del Maipo, which offered spectacular views of the mountains and the glaciers above which were shrouded in mist. It was a great trip, and I recommend it!
